EGR troubles..15 Oct 2004 20:56 GMT12
I've been having problems with my EGR system on my '88 K2500. 350TBI.
this is what I've found out.  the EGR valve itself is fine...
disconnecting the vacuum line and pluging it into the vent on the EGR
solenoid stops the surging.  moving up the line, the EGR solenoid is a
Ping Doc or Gary15 Oct 2004 15:13 GMT9
Two questions for you.  The first is:  Can you remove (or disconnect)
the A.I.R. pump on a 1987 Suburban 350 without causing problems?
Second:  Can you successfully weld a patch over a hole in the exhaust
manifold on the same engine?  This is not my vehicle and the guy that

U-Joints15 Oct 2004 04:55 GMT13
My mechanic friend and I have come to the conclusion that i need to replace
the u-joints on my '99 silverado z71 due to excessive noise (squeeking) and
vibration in the drive line (shakes the whole vehical). and it's not a wheel
weight.. it only does it when there is torque on ...

Brake Pedal / Transmission Shift Interlock??14 Oct 2004 14:27 GMT9
Today I was parked with the engine running and the transmission in Park.
When I tried to drive off the transmission could not be shifted out of Park.
I shut off the engine for about 20seconds, restarted it and was able to
select Drive with no problems.  I noted though that if I put ...
91 Suburban 6.2: What To Look For?14 Oct 2004 08:44 GMT2
I'm looking at possibly picking up a 91 2500 2WD with a
6.2 NA diesel. The guy who owns it has had it sitting for
a few years in his garage, bought for a project he never got
to.

over, until after about 30 minutes of sitting.  no crank, no click, just
plain ol' nuthin'.  I've read in a few other groups that ...
Hypertech Power Programmer14 Oct 2004 05:37 GMT1
Hey anyone ever use a hypertech power programmer on a 96 Chevy Silverado or
GMC Serria with a 7.4 L V8? I have one I use on my S-10 and I am selling it

to know if there is a big difference in HP and ...
2004 Duramax throwing fuel??14 Oct 2004 00:20 GMT6
We just got back from a 400+ mile trip with our 5th wheel and found that
a lot of unburned fuel had blown into the bed.  We remove the tail
gate while towing.  Also, a lot of fuel streaks are on the front of the
trailer.  My question is this:  Is it normal for unburned fuel to ...
New Process 20814 Oct 2004 00:14 GMT1
Any extra help would be appreciated.  My new process 208 pops out of 4W hi

low as I can't get them to engage.  But if I manually hold the shifter in 4W
hi no problems.  The truck is an '86 K10 305ci, th700r4 ...

aftermarket trailering mirrors for 2004 silverado13 Oct 2004 15:08 GMT2
My stock mirrors don't extend far enough (I have the electric extending
mirrors) and neither are they tall enough to be able to see my trailer tires
as well as vehicles in the lanes next to me.    It appears that the Ford
(electric) extending mirrors might be just what I need.   Are ...
Hood Lock13 Oct 2004 11:59 GMT16
What are some good ways to deter a thief from opening your hood and smashing
the alarm speaker?
I thought about just removing the hood release handle from inside and
putting it in my tool box. I found some hood locks online but figure there
