2004 Tahoe11 Nov 2004 16:59 GMT8
Also I have a 2004 Tahoe making some clicking noises from the front end
during turning at all speeds.  I have taken back to the dealer and was told
it was a cross member that didn't have a hole drilled big enough for the
suspension.  Everytime it gets "fixed", it still returns.  ...

My 90 Suburban R2500, 2wd, 454 cid, has a hard start problem. After she
turns over for approximately 10-15 seconds, she backfires and begins
running. There is a strong smell of gas after she starts, but once I get her
on the road she runs and idles without problems ... other than ...

dumb 02 question11 Nov 2004 03:24 GMT4
Is the cv joint the boot that is closest to the tire or is it the boot
and flanged piece closer to the center of the vehicle?
While changing my oil in my 2002, I noticed that it is all wet above
this flange (which I think is the cv joint) and NOT wet near the boot

2000 Tahoe Questions11 Nov 2004 03:15 GMT6
I am looking at trading in my 99 Blazer and getting a 2000 Tahoe.  I
have a few questions though.  I have noticed that some 2000 Tahoes
have the 5.7 L engine, and some have the 5.3 L engine.  If the truck
has the 5.7 L engine is the rest of the truck also the "old" design?
98 Tahoe water pump11 Nov 2004 03:12 GMT6
I have a 98 Tahoe 5.7 and the water pump is leaking out of the weep hole.
Question is, besides the belt fan and clutch, and radiator shroud does anything
else need to be removed to get to it and replace it.
At quick glance it looks almost like the A/C and alternator brackets need ...

On subject vehicle, 350 auto 4X4, where is the damned electronic spark
timing (EST) connector?  I want to check my timing and the "book" says there

supposed to have a tan wire with a black stripe.  I can't find ...

Header install10 Nov 2004 22:50 GMT2
I have a set of Hedmann headers to install on my 78 4WD with a recently
rebuilt 350.  I know that I need to adjust the timing and richen the
fuel/air mixture.  I don't know how much adjustment is needed.  Can someone
point me in the right direction?  The carb is a Holley, not sure ...

My dad has a 1992 GMC Vandura 1/2 ton with a 4.3 liter work van. Recently he
just replaced the engine. Before he replaced the engine, when the engine was
cold or when it was sitting for awhile, when you start it, the rpms would
pulsate, from like 500 -1000 rpms, up and down for ...
Cat. converter question.10 Nov 2004 18:05 GMT6
My son and I are finishing up an installation of a 400 sm. block Chevy
engine into a '79 El Camino.  I just finished installing the aftermarket
dual exh. with two cat. converters.  2 1/2 inch pipes.   No H pipe,
(crossover), and probably won't get one.  The fellow who always does ...

I previously had a 98 Dodge Ram and lurked in the alt.dodge.trucks (or something
similar) newsgroup.  Sometimes I even asked questions.  The group was VERY full
of incessant problems and typically my questions were about the not infrequent
problems I had with the Dodge...  and of ...
