I had a knock in my 99 K1500 Suburban 4x4. I tore it down and found it was a collapsed lifter. I took all the rocker arms, lifting rods and lifters out to inspect all of them. They all looked OK, so I just replaced the single lifter, re-assembled arms, lifters and rods, ...

Got my brakes fixed, all is well with them. But now... ...on my way home tonight, everything was working great, AC was blowing hard, radio on, charging my cell phone, cruise control on, etc., all the normal stuff.

I have a 2005 Tahoe and last night I was getting gas for my lawnmower and some of the gas spilled out of the container and onto the black plastic of the automatic window buttons. The plastic changed from a dark black to a lighter shade of black where the gasoline was.

I have been told that pre 96 model 5.7L, you had to disconnect a wire that went to the computer to time it. Would this be the same on the 5.7 Vortec? Is there a trick to it?

The EGR valve has been cleaned out and the MAF has been cleaned as well. The truck still (97 Cheyenne) still struggling to idle. Tomorrow, the TB is coming off of the intake. This'll be interesting. Charles.

I am thinking about buying the Colorado pickup. Any ideas on the reliability and quality of the truck. I haven't had Chevy's in 20 years, last one was a lemon, had Hondas, Toyotas etc. Which engine 4 or 5? I plan on 2 wheel drive with automatic xmsn.

93 silverado stepside /w 350 V8 - idles a little rough- -when in drive RPM drops to between 500 and 800 rpm ( way slower htan normal - pressing on gas pedal the truck seems to want to stall and no power/noise difference
