Been thinking about whether to buy a new truck or to build what I want from
an older truck. If I buy new it would be:
3500, reg cab, srw, duramax diesel, six speed, 4wd
If I go the build-it route, it will start with an 82 to 87 K20, a mild

'99 Blazer, Auto 4x4 not working properly15 Aug 2005 03:39 GMT8
1999 S10 Blazer with the Auto HI 4x4 setting. Last winter, it was
working great, but when it got really cold (below 15 or so), the
Service 4x4 light would come on and it would shift out of Auto and move
permanently into standard 4x4 HI. I couldn't manually shift back into
Tahoe Air Conditioning - No Electricity to Compressor14 Aug 2005 17:46 GMT3
My 1998 Tahoe is having an A/C problem. Have determined through using
an Ohm meter that neither the high side electrical feed or the low
pressure switch is getting any current. I have replaced the A/C Relay
Switch and the 10A fuse. Both of those are hot when tested.
fuel filter14 Aug 2005 15:35 GMT2
I think I got some bad gas, now the engine sputters and doesn't have a
smooth idle any more.  It was recommended to replace the fuel filter.  I
bought one at autozone, but I don't know where to find the fuel filter on
my truck to replace it.  I drive a 1999 chevy silverado 5.7L ...
fuel gauge14 Aug 2005 14:46 GMT1
my son just recently bought a 2000 Blazer. A week later the gauge would
read full and then drop back to E, the low fuel light would come on and
then back to full. He filled it up and it took 6 gal. Now the gauge is
going down slowly but it stopped at 3/4 and he has gone 180 mi. It ...

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Fuel problem on 4.3 TBI14 Aug 2005 12:32 GMT2
I have a 93 GMC with 4.3 TBI engine.  2 nights ago, it died on my way
home, acted like it was out of gas, but I still had a quarter tank.  I
put 5 gallon in it just to verify that it did have fuel, but it still
wouldn't start.  If I put a little fuel down the throttle body, it ...

'99 Chevy Suburban torque converter lockup problem14 Aug 2005 05:19 GMT6
1999 Chevy Suburban 1500 w/ 5.7L 83K miles
The torque converter appears to be doing odd things! There are times the
truck shutters and stumbles from a stop and shutters and stumbles, almost as
if preparing to stall, coming to a stop. It can shutter like made at times
Puzzling junkyard engine14 Aug 2005 04:12 GMT7
I've got an engine from a junkyard that they said had around 70-80k miles on
it. I didn't get the VIN until I picked it up and CarFax said it was from a '92
C2500 that was salvaged in '04 with 226k miles. I called the yard and ragged
on the guy because of this and he said his ...
GM 4L80E question.14 Aug 2005 02:22 GMT2
I've got a '93 3/4 ton Chevy pickup with the 4L80E trans.  ~200,000 miles on
it and still shifting fine.  I hope to keep this truck a very long time and
I've already found a rebuildable engine for it.  I have a chance at a 4L80E
trans. with only 1800 miles on it for a good price and ...
1996 S-10 4 cyl ignition problem - can I swap 1/4 and 2/3 coils?13 Aug 2005 20:21 GMT3
My '96 Chevy S10 began to run rough and the "check engine soon" light
came on.  I replaced the plugs and have the same trouble.  Three of
the 4 plugs look the same, signs of use, but the #2 plug looks like it
hasn't fired for a while.  Sure enough, I get no spark from the #2
