The mammoth troubles facing GM, Ford and their auto parts makers are merely a symptom of the global leveling of manufacturing that has been underway for some years. Stop and think. We're told this week that the average annual wage for

| 700R4 kickdown cable question... | 30 Jan 2006 23:13 GMT | 7 |
What damage can occur by not having the cable connected? I couldn't find a replacement cable today at the parts store I was at and won't have the chance to go out again tonight. FWIW, I assume electronics are involved in the lockup on this tranny,

| Help repairing '00 Silverado horn? | 30 Jan 2006 20:49 GMT | 4 |
I know this has been addressed many times, but I can't find the fix. One of the two horns on my '00 Silv went out (as expected). I know I could just replace it with stock or aftermarket, but I remember some sort of fix (even temporary).

| spray lubricants | 30 Jan 2006 18:04 GMT | 4 |
I went to the hardware store today, to get a new can of white lithium spray lube, for general purpose lubrication needs. On the same shelf with it, were cans of silicone based and teflon based spray lubes...I left, wondering if lithium based was still the hot setup for that sort ...

| New thread...EST/ESC and knock sensor questions... | 30 Jan 2006 15:38 GMT | 16 |
Ok...I think I've identified the burned up pigtail coming off the back of my HEI. Again, this is an '86 K5 Blazer, with the weird-a.s 5-pin ignition module. On the back of the HEI enters a small pigtail/wiring harness.

I installed a set of Timbren load boosters in my '95 K1500 and without the spacer they just barely sit on the axle but are supposed to be at least one inch above it to preserve the factory ride. I want to keep the Timbrens but need that one inch so I have considered the Hellwig ...

I have a '97 Chev K1500 that probably needs new shocks (150,000 miles). The truck has a light camper mounted permanently, about 650 lbs. I had the factory "heavy-duty" shocks (not the Bilsteins) and have been happy with them. The truck travels mostly on roads (some
