I have a 98 chev 1500 w/t with the 4.3L vortec.  I havent drive it it
sometime about a year and half but start it every month or so to keep
everything lubricated and charged up.  The other day I went to go for a
drive and got about a quarter mile down the road and the engine just ...

OK  I started with a tune-up (plugs,wires,cap&rotor,and fuel filter)
Started running Way too rich backfires through the exhaust and gets really
bad mileage(duh).  I don't have access to a OBD2 machine and there is also
no check engine light on!  Where do I go from here?

I have a 1985 Chevy S-10 With a new engine in it. I am having a problem
with the vacuum system I believe, when the engine is running and I take
off the oil filler cap, I feel air coming out and I believe it should be
sucking in. Anyone know how to fix this?

It switches to 1st and 2nd fine. After 2nd I start hearing this
humming sound, and it want go to 3rd. I went like 50mph and never
switched, and noticed when I let off the gas I slowed down really fast

It's got the 350 4v and the close ratio NP 435 4-speed.It's got the

I have a 6.5 TD 3500 frequently my engine rpms surge up to 3000 or so.  It
used to just go up and then just drop down immediatly and still does when
idleing but recently when driving at speed the engine will surge and not
stop until I turn the ignition off.  when surging it blows ...

Need to replace padded dash cover but want to avoid the "carpet look." Any

I bought a used '98 G3500 last week. It is in very nice condition, and
ran VERY smoothly for the week so far (about 500 miles).

I have a 95 s-10 with a 383 and a 350 transmisson.  Having some cooling
problems using the 4.3 radiator.  It had a oil cooler that I am not using.
To get another tad of cooling could I add a transmisson cooler to the oil
lines on the radiator and fill with oil?  Using a dual fan ...

I've got a 99 with a 5.3 V8 auto/overdrive.  The transmission slips
when in 4th (overdrive).  Only happens when I am going up hill of
during slight acceleration.  Had the transmission rebuilt but the
problem persists.  Any ideas?

I need a part number for a dipstick for an 89 GMC K3500 Pickup with a
454.  The dealership guy sold me a 12550533 which is way the hell off,
I looked it up on gmpartsdirect and it says for 1991 and up, lot of
good that does me it's 16" too long. I'll be real happy when he tries
