Best 4x4 vehicle for long trip in very remote area?03 Mar 2006 02:06 GMT11
I'm considering taking a very long road trip to northern Quebec and
Labrador. That's the real North, very remote and wild, with very poorly maintained
gravel roads (huge potholes, etc) and very few gas stations. Later, I'd like to
drive to Yukon territory and Alaska.

My 6.5 threw it serpentine belt.  Water pump, alternator, idler, AC all
turn freely.  to the passenger side , left of the water pump and
crankshaft is a pulley I can't identify.  Looks like a vacuum pump.
Anybody know what it is?  It does not turn more than 1/8 rotation.
1997 Chev Suburban C1500 Power Steering01 Mar 2006 15:12 GMT10
Any one know how to change out the power steering hoses.  I have a hose that
is leaking at the point where the metal pipe from the pump joins to a rubber
hose.  I cannot figure out how to split the hose from the metal pipe at that
point.  Any advise would be welcome.
