GMC Sierra Fog lights11 Jun 2006 04:26 GMT2
I purchased a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 4wd crew cab and it did not come with fog
lights. Anyone know of a place where I can buy these at.  I have search the
internet and it's like they don't exist for sale.  Is the truck already
wired for them, or will it required extensive work to ...
2000 Z71 Silverado lifter noise?10 Jun 2006 20:24 GMT7
5.3 V8 engine that now has 126k miles.
I have heard it upon first start up since about 40000 miles.  It
disappears quickly but worries me a bit since any noise usually
indicates wear. The longer the vehicle sits before driving the more the
Swapping open for limited-slip differential?10 Jun 2006 19:47 GMT5
I've got a 2000 siverado, 3.42 gears, open differential. (2wd).
I recently bought a boat, and really wish I had opted for the limited
slip differential now. I believe the gm code is G80 for this option.
Question- I wish to keep the 3.42 gear ratio, but would like to put in a
Little flap thingie under tailgate10 Jun 2006 15:35 GMT1
The flange that is the back of the box  bed (you can see it as the narrow
strip under the tailgate and above the bumper) is rotting and looks like
hell.   What's the best way to spiff that up?  Is it safe to cut it out and
replace with some plastic or something I can rig up and ...
my latest fubar10 Jun 2006 02:30 GMT5
I thought you all might appreciate this, especially Jon( I know this is
nowhere near your mishap but still amusing).
After taking out and cleaning my vacuum modulator valve, I had been
back in the house for a while, my dad dropped off his vacuum gauge so I
Another dumb question09 Jun 2006 15:55 GMT18
I own a 2002 Trailblazer with 80,000 miles.  I now get between 15 to 20 mpg.
Here is the dumb question;  Is it possible/feasible to convert my truck to
burn Ethanol and/or E85?  My owners manual recommends to NOT burn Ethanol.
If possible, how much mpg would I give up to do it?  ...
last one: glue for trim plastic (grill)09 Jun 2006 05:11 GMT7
Last summer I hit a big bird and cracked the plastic grill in several
places, including some of the mounts.   I took it off and fixed it all up
using 5 minute epoxy with embedded paperclip wire for extra rigidity.   I
sanded it and painted it flat black, put all the chrome bits ...
2500 versus 3500? The difference?08 Jun 2006 23:38 GMT19
Rookie, dumb, no-brainer question.
I want a new truck.
A diesel.
Chrysler products are out (Lotta reasons, drive train mostly. The Cummins is
New springs for the carb?  Also, ID the weird vacuum port on the manifold...08 Jun 2006 18:32 GMT9
Well...the K5 is officially back on the road...sort of.
The last change I made to the carb (rejetting) before the fire
apparently *did* lean it out a bit.  However, there's a bad lean spot
right off idle...right where you hold it to cruise.  So today, my
92 S10 torsion bar question08 Jun 2006 02:20 GMT2
I have a 92 S10 Blazer.  I messed with the torsion bars a long time ago to
adjust the ride height of the back of the truck.  I was told later not to
screw with them which they were right! :(
I finally got the left and right ride height equal.  Now it is still bouncy
trans slipping07 Jun 2006 13:09 GMT5
TH400, 125K on it, behind a 454.  Never had a problem shifting/slipping
at all until this week.  Now after towing a trailer into the mountains
it's slipping.  Probably the obvious answer that I fried it.  Didn't
really go up any huge hills and it was only an hour and 15 min trip.
Non-electronic lockup on a 700-R4...07 Jun 2006 03:58 GMT3
So... I got the K5 back today.  My tranny case was damaged and had to
be replaced (according to the shop) so the bill was quite a bit higher
than expected.
Regardless, the head dude there said that rather than deal with the
torsion bars07 Jun 2006 03:30 GMT1
With a 2wd Silverado 1500 do you need a torstion bar drop kit for a 7"
cross member drop down kit, or is it only need for a 4wd
