| 1999 Suburban Brakes Wooshing... | 06 Jun 2006 21:39 GMT | 11 |
My '99 'burb is making a strange sound lately when you push on the brake pedal. It sounds like air is leaking from them, although that can't be right. Is there some sort of air-actuated control on them? I checked the resevoir and it is full, when I turn the truck off, the ...

| 94 Sonoma Check engine soon | 06 Jun 2006 20:21 GMT | 8 |
I keep getting the check engine soon warning on my 94 Sonoma, 4x4, 4.3, 5sp. It only comes on after about 30 to 40 minutes of driving. The temp is good, oil pressure is good, oil level seems fine but it's hard to tell exactly because it splashed up the stick real bad. When I ...

Vehicle is a '98 K2500 with 5.7L (350). I just finished up replacing the intake manifold gasket. Upon initial startup, I get a loud metalic popping sound. Almost like something was left in the vicinity of the belt. Not rythmic, though. It was one of the first things I heard the ...

| 6.5L diesel surge on low fuel | 06 Jun 2006 18:22 GMT | 3 |
Had an odd thing happen today. Crusing along at 70mph and fuel tank is close to empty but not quite, and suddenly I get a surge of power that felt like a turbo kicking in (not a turbo vehicle), and it went up to 80mph without moving the pedal. Then as suddenly as it happened it

| Aftermarket tach for older 1/2 ton | 06 Jun 2006 17:38 GMT | 5 |
That empty bezel bugs me. Is there an aftermarket tach I can get to stick in there? I note that LMC truck's catalogue lists fuel gauge w/tach or w/o tach, whatever that means. The illustration just shows a fuel guage. My instrument cluster is the two big guages for fuel and ...

| Hood braces | 05 Jun 2006 14:39 GMT | 2 |
I've seen X shaped hood braces on older cars, the welds on the hood of my 86 1/2 ton are all popped, and the hood is kind of floaty. LMC Truck sells some brackets, but they're just a couple of pieces of channel that run partway down each side, nothing that goes across. Do they ...
