98 chevy blazer front end noise26 Jul 2006 04:54 GMT2
This noise could be described as clicking or whining, depending on my speed.
It comes from the right front on my 98 Blazer.  It slows down to ticking
sound when my speed slows.  Then, gets faster and louder as I increase my
speed.  In fact on a few occasions, it's been so loud that ...
Pontiac engine in a Chevy truck?26 Jul 2006 02:53 GMT2
I have an older 69 1/4 ton chevy truck with a '76 chevy 350 and a TH350
in it.  The motor just became a boat anchor for me and it needs
replacement.  I have a pontiac 455 and a TH400 sitting in my garage,
and I am wondering what I have to do put that in the truck.  Since I

Weird problem that has me stumped....
1987 R10 5.0L V-8  Auto. Trans.
Crank the engine and when it starts, the rpm goes almost full throttle (like
the throttle is full open) and that is without the pedal depressed at all..

I have a 2000 Silverado 1500 with 6 cylinder. I replaced the fuel pressure
regulator and I think I mixed up two of the poppets when I
reinstalled.Engine starts but runs with a miss.  Does anyone have the order
of which poppet goes to which cylinder.
front wheel hop25 Jul 2006 14:23 GMT4
1994 Z71 K1500 with 33s.
When I drive over a series of bumps--like a washboarded road or a bunch
of potholes and patches in a long section-- at a slow speed, the front
right tire hops hard and high, uncontrollably until I slow to a stop.

drive by wire/steer by wire25 Jul 2006 05:35 GMT12
Saw an article on the subject systems.  I think it said that GM was
using the steer by wire system in the Chevy Malibu.
There goes the hydraulic power steering pump and belts.  I guess some
of the high tech aircraft technology is making its way into auto and
1997 Chevy Tahoe O2 Sensor or Cat Converter?25 Jul 2006 03:27 GMT1
We recently purchased a 1997 Tahoe with 126,000 miles (5.7 L V8).  At
the time of inspection the Check Engine light was on.  We had our
mechanic check the codes and it indicated "Converter Efficiency and O2
Sensor Heater Failure on Bank 2".  They recommed replacing the cat
98 Blazer Tranny25 Jul 2006 03:22 GMT1
The tranny on my Blazer is toast and needs a rebuild. Everyone I have spoken
with wants about $2000 to rebuild it.
I know that it won't be a walk in the park but how difficult would it be to
swap the tranny in my garage.

'99 Chevy Tahoe Electrical Issue25 Jul 2006 03:06 GMT1
Hi all, I drive a 1999 Chevy Tahoe which I believe has an electrical
problem.  A faint but distinct high-pitched whistle is audible whenever
the engine's rpms are high, almost like a turbo-charger.  Additionally,
the interior dash lights flicker slightly at the same time.  I have an

NP208 transfer case leak24 Jul 2006 23:46 GMT3
I've got a 1986 GMC 4x4 half-ton pickup with a New Process 208 transfer
case. I have noticed a leak coming from the 208's output seal. I
removed my rear drive shaft and slipped it out of the 208. I am unsure
how best to remove the output seal from this transfer case, and I would
Axle woes have returned...need a lifespan estimate.24 Jul 2006 22:37 GMT24
Yes, I know... Damn it...
So, on the 3rd of July, around 8:30pm, I was on the interstate and hit
a very steep, nearly mile-long grade.  Maintaining speed is difficult
so I dropped to 3rd gear.  As I peaked the hill I started to hear a
Fuel Gauge Reads Empty, Low Fuel Message24 Jul 2006 19:11 GMT5
I have a 2001 Silvarado, standard cab, 2WD, automatic transmission.
When I stop at a light, after a few seconds the Fuel Gauge will drop down to
below empty, and the Low Fuel message will be displayed at the left edge of
the instrument cluster.
