drivetrain / transmission noise12 Aug 2006 23:32 GMT5
Just bought an 06 silverardo and now have 700 miles on it.
My truck has a v-6 and a 5 speed manual trans.
When I shift gears, normally one of the lower gears, I have a clunk
that drives me nuts. It sounds like it is coming from the transmission

'96 Blazer fuel pump - gone tits up?12 Aug 2006 16:18 GMT3
My 1996 V6 Blazer decided to die today after work. It started up and ran for
about 2 minutes and then just stopped in the parking lot.
It has the typical 'out of gas' while cranking sound.
One thing I do notice now, just before turning the key to try and start it,
1967 Chevy C40 motor id by casting #?12 Aug 2006 05:27 GMT2
Would anyone here have the ability to ID a motor (cu") for this truck
via the casting #? I have contacted a couple machine shops and
dealerships around but the machine shops say their books arent going
back far enough and the dealers are pretty much useless.
4L60E: Hard shifts again w/57k on re-sleeved valve body?12 Aug 2006 04:00 GMT9
Is another valve body failure a sure thing?   Or could there be other causes?
My recollection is that the re-sleeving was supposed tb a relatively permanent
fix.    But 57k on the re-sleeve vs 30-40k on the replacements doesn't seem like
that much of an improvement.
Baja beater, continued12 Aug 2006 03:35 GMT8
We've been looking at a few trucks, mostly jeep cherokees and Toyota land
cruisers...
My wife asked again about blazer/blazer II ads and I really don't have any info
except that my kid's blazer was fun to drive around town..
'85 Chevy g30 Diesel fuel meter11 Aug 2006 19:58 GMT2
The fuel gauge on my '85 g30 van isn't working.  I have a Haynes manual
that isn't any help at all in this regard.
There is an electrical wire dangling from the engine that should
connect to the crankcase(?) on the driver's side.  It's a tab and slot
A/C Problem11 Aug 2006 17:28 GMT8
I have a 1998 1500 Silverado with 5.0 liter.  When I push the a/c button the
light on the recycle comes on also, even when its not pressed.  The
compressor comes on for a few seconds then shuts off.  It does it repeatedly
with no cold air coming from the vents.  The compressor ...
89 s10 Door removal11 Aug 2006 04:57 GMT2
I have an 89 4.3 4x4 s10 that is used at the beach an awful lot, and
can be driven on the beach and around a small town. I was wondering how
difficult it would be to make the doors removable. It has manual
everything so there are no wires to worry about. It looks like i could

My fiancee has a '01 Blazer, recently thew ABS system is faulting

No Brake Lights!11 Aug 2006 03:41 GMT2
Help!   New (to me) '93 suburban w/ otherwise pretty unmolested
electrical system...but i just noticed the brake lights aren't working.
I've tested the pedal switch & it's good.  I've checked the leads at
the tail lights w/ a test light & could not find ANY signal coming from

1999 Chevy Tahoe Steering Gone Nuts10 Aug 2006 15:23 GMT7
I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe and it seems to be having a problem with the
steering.  Every now and then, whenever it wants actually, the steering
seems to just go loose.  That is, if you're driving down the road and
you go around a corner the vehicle steers in the right direction, but
in dash clock size 87 GMC Sierra Classic10 Aug 2006 14:21 GMT5
Couldn't find a GMC truck group, hope someone here knows...brother-in-law in
KY has a very nice GMC, it never had a clock, he wants one...there's a place
in the dash for one. Problem is he says he has to take the dash apart to
find out what diameter will fit.
My 92 S10 Blazer.09 Aug 2006 17:38 GMT7
I've had my 1992 S-10 Blazer for a litle over a year, and it's been a great
first car for me. But lately for about the past month, it has been running
a little rough, and I tried cleaning out the injector, which made it
bearable for a while. I also changed the plugs and wires and ...
