2000 Cargo Van 3500 (1 ton)16 Jan 2007 21:46 GMT3
I hope my van counts as a truck?  Anyway, I was looking at some old
posts and saw some real good gas mileage reports.  My van has the 5.7
Vortec and "highway gears".  Since it was new I averaged 11 to 13
combined city/highway and if I'm lucky I'll get 14 on the highway (going

1999 Tahoe Limited performance problems16 Jan 2007 15:02 GMT6
Over the last 4-6 months my Tahoe has been giving me problems
accelerating when I give it a heavy foot. When I hit the gas down
anywhere past about 60-75% down it loses acceleration almost like it's
being starved of air or gas. I can even hear a pop every now and then

using my old rockers and pushrods. I know there is no specifc torque for
the rocker studbolts..like there is for v6 and later model v8...i know

Any Nova Scotia people here?15 Jan 2007 14:07 GMT2
I am curious if there are any 4x4/offroad, dirt bike, snowmobile and
atv'ers here ? I really enjoy the threads in this group. I also like
visiting nsohvforum.com which is Nova Scotia based for people who enjoy
the sports within the province. :D
Idle Problem on 1987 Suburban15 Jan 2007 11:09 GMT1
My '87 Suburban, 5.7L, started acting strange recently.  Upon cold
start-up, it idles very low and I have to keep the accelerator
depressed to keep it from stalling until it warms up. I suspect the
idle air control valve on the TBI unit but I'm not sure.
Help! 2000 Sonoma Door Hinge Pin15 Jan 2007 00:41 GMT2
I tried replacing the hinge pins and bushings on the door.  It went
pretty well except I don't know how to get the spring back on.  Also, I
believe the a hole or two on the hinge have enlarged.  How much does it
cost for a shop to put new hinges on?  By the way, I'm basically an
Extended Warranty Advise14 Jan 2007 22:24 GMT4
Ok-I'm open to all pieces of advise.   I have a 2004 Siverado 2500.
Very nicely equipped truck.  Tho I had several warranty issues early
on, all seems OK now.  My hope/plan is to keep this truck for many
years...how about 10 years....I don't know what to do when my warranty
98 S10 with bad gas mileage14 Jan 2007 21:50 GMT3
I recently purchased this truck. It is a 5speed 2.2l 4cylinder with 145K
miles. I bought it in the hopes of saving some gas instead of driving my
k2500 around all the time. I've had it about 3 months now and have been
consistently getting 13 - 15 mpg! I had a '94 a few years back ...

bus or truck chassis to coachbuild a mobile office?14 Jan 2007 19:33 GMT5
The plan is to buy a chassis new from the factory, and turn it over to
a coachbuilder to buildup a mobile office.
Which is a better starting point - a bus chassis or a truck chassis?
Note - this will happen in Asia - neither a ford nor a chevy is likely
New Tires and ABS14 Jan 2007 18:51 GMT4
I recently purchased new tires for my 2004 Chevy 2500HD 2wd and got a
slightly larger size - specifically LT265/75 R16 versus the old tires at
LT245/75 R16.
By using my GPS as a control, with my old tires the speedometer would
Transmission leaks14 Jan 2007 12:42 GMT1
I just had a used transmission put into my 96 Blazer, however where there
were NO leaks before, now there seems to be a fairly substantial amount of
transmission fluid leaking near the passenger side front wheel.  Any idea why
this is happening?  Also after the transmission was ...
