Cat Shot...or Not?07 Jan 2007 23:49 GMT2
My '99 2.2L Sonoma -- 96K miles -- has developed a rattling in the
exhaust.  I put it up on stands and listened to it and, sure enough,
its coming from inside the catalytic converter.  After it cooled off I
shook it by hand -- theres the sound of something rattling around loose
1990 4X4 ignition lock, key problem07 Jan 2007 06:25 GMT8
I don't know how, but I have managed to loose the keys to my ignition on my
1990 Chevy 1 ton 4X4.  I have a spare door key, that's all.  The lock smith
wants $65 to $75 to come out and hopefully make a new one.  Does anyone
know of any other more ecconomic options?

I am looking for some help on fixing the starter problem on my truck. I have
a 1993 GMC 1500 Z71 with the 5.7 engine, it has about 133,000 miles on it. A
few weeks ago I had a new flywheel put on as the old had worn spots in it and
was causing the starter to grind. After the new ...
Engine corrosion caused by Chevy?06 Jan 2007 00:35 GMT4
I have a 1997 Tahoe with 5.7L engine and only 87,000 miles on it.  A
couple of years ago my mechanic discovered a rust covered sludge when
he took off the radiator cap.  That cost me a new radiator and he
warned that the intake manifold gasket would probably need replacing.

I am a newbie and recently purchased a '99 Suburban K1500 and it feels like
its all over the road.  I am always correcting it even when going straight.

all tires, but it still drives the same.  Any help ...
Fast Idle Problem at startup03 Jan 2007 14:43 GMT1

2000 Sierra - tailgate stuck!03 Jan 2007 03:28 GMT4
The handle pulls up, one side seems to be unlatching (I think) but the
other is just plain stuck and is not budging, if I pull the bedliner
panel off, will I be able to access the mechanism to the handle back
there to fix the problem?  What is probably the cause?  thanks!
01 Silverado Heater won't turn off03 Jan 2007 03:22 GMT3
I have a 01 Silverado with a little overv 100000 miles on it.  Very
occassionally, say every few months, I get hot air coming from the
vents and cannot get it to turn off.  If I turn the A/C on, it still
blows hot.  If I turn the truck off, usually for 15-30 minutes, it will
I need a Chevy Suburban seat specialist03 Jan 2007 02:06 GMT3
I just purchased a 1999 USFS K2500 4X4 Suburban at auction.  The front seat
is trashed.  It wouldn't be so bad except that it's a bench seat and I can't
find one.  Everything seems to be buckets.  What other models use the same
seats?  Trucks, Tahoes?  And are the welded nuts ...
ignition timing question02 Jan 2007 06:13 GMT6
Does anyone out there have a '68 or '69 truck which came with a 396 stock?
And if so what is the timing advance spec?
According to Haynes the '70 version is set at 4 degrees btdc. But GM only
put the 396 in the '68 and '69 trucks. After that it became a 402.
