The Accelerator Pump Blues16 May 2007 02:40 GMT3
I'm mad enough to piss molten stainless steel. Two thousand bucks in
bills from two incompetant mechanics, the first who "rebuilt" my carb
(a 4 barrel Rochester), claiming the float was stuck. Maybe it was or
maybe it wasn't, but before he got hold of it, that engine would start

I tried the acetone bit, but couldn't tell any difference in the
mileage. Got a
quart of acetone from the paint section of a department store.

Could one or both of you please drop me a line, I have yet another
question for you about my T-Case?  I know where the leak is coming
from and have tried to stop it but it won't, so I wanted to see if
either of you had suggestions.

major screwup with 4X4 tracker14 May 2007 15:09 GMT5
ok...did something really dumb.  I towed my 2002 Tracker 4X4 AT with the
tranfer case in 4wH.  Now it will not move in drive but will work in low and
reverse.  What have I done?    Tranfer case or transmission or both?  The
transmision was in Nuetral.

feature in their cars and trucks?  Thanks
Suburban: Beach Kit?13 May 2007 20:45 GMT11
Haven't done that much driving on deep sand - mostly down at
Hatteras... but never came close to getting stuck.   The thing
always seemed to just churn it's way through even seemingly
hubcap-deep sand.

I had my early 80's Jimmy towed and 4wd doesn't engage anymore13 May 2007 01:08 GMT14
About 1/2 hour after it was off the wrecker, I noticed the front hubs were
hotter than a son of a ......
I tried putting it in 4H and 4L, but the auto hubs don't feel like they engaged.
In the mud, only the rear wheels would slip - it was definitely only in 2wd.

chevy 350 oil filter adapter12 May 2007 10:47 GMT2
Hello. I replaced the oil filter adapter on my 350 today. I'm a littl
confused as to whether it needs a gasket or not. The new part didn'
come with one although the instruction sheet says it comes with/need
one. A book I have says no gasket is needed. Which is correct? Gasket o
