Almost too quiet.....
coolant capacity18 Dec 2007 03:18 GMT2
I've just changed the water pump on my '94 S10 4.3L Z 2WD. After
flushing I filled as far as I could with the engine off. I ran the
truck until I got a nudge up on the temp gauge, then added more. I ran
until the heater was working full blast and added more. It's "full"
Can Smog check results point to actual problem?18 Dec 2007 01:53 GMT2
My 1977 half ton 2wd 350ci 350 turbo automatic Chevy pickup failed smog
check as Gross Polluter.  Could the numbers on the smog test point to actual
problem such as air/fuel mixture, unburnt fuel, oil consumption, bad
compression, bad cat?  Or wrong timing, unburnt fuel, oil ...
91 Silverado 4wd actuator/thermal plunger17 Dec 2007 00:55 GMT4
Just how hard is this to replace?  I have been dealing with the slow
engagement blues for a couple years, but it always eventually hooked up.  I
used a few times this summer for pulling trees down (okay guiding trees
down, not actually yanking them out of the dirt) and had no ...
'98 Chev Silverado Trans17 Dec 2007 00:31 GMT3
We got a used Chev ,automatic trans, V6, 2WD, 1500. It runs like a new one
and has about 150K miles.
I don't know if the trans filter has ever been changed. Does anyone know the
interval for this ?
700R4 Valve body16 Dec 2007 12:36 GMT1
I think one of the valves in the valve body on my S-10's 700R4 is
sticking a little.  It doesn't make the 1-2 full throttle shift soon
enough and the engine seems to be hitting the rev limiter.  Also, the
warmer the transmission the later the 1-2 shift occurs.  Plus, if I

chevy k2500 ld) in my 92 gmc k1500 and it doesn't run quite right... i
found out from the person who rebuilt the motor that he had put an RV
700R4 to NP205   ?16 Dec 2007 04:49 GMT1
I want to swap out my TH350 for a 700R4 / 4L60.  The transfer case is
an NP205.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've read that all that needs
to be changed to bolt it in is the output shaft of the new
transmission.   Advance Adapters sells one that does the job.
poor gas mileage15 Dec 2007 23:20 GMT29
I have a 2005 gmc crew cab z71. I have a 26 gallon tank and I am only
getting 290 miles off of a tank of gas is this right? I know other
guys who are getting 350 to 400 miles off of their tanks. I checked
air filter and most common things. I have 60k miles on the truck and I
Sloppy shifter 98 half ton15 Dec 2007 21:55 GMT2

My th400 pan gasket leaks, how do I stop it?15 Dec 2007 20:29 GMT50
I have tried to replace this gasket 4 times now. I have a brand new pan, and
I always torque to 8-10 foot pounds.
From the looks of it, it leaks down the bolts somehow. I always see the oil
welling up on a couple of bolts.
P1870 Trans slip15 Dec 2007 20:24 GMT5
looking for somone who has or had this problem too with their truck
that has the 4L80E trans. Ive read alot about the 60's having this
problem but not the 80's. It operates perfectly but when the trans
temp warms up to about 150 degrees it upshifts harder. Ive taken it to
Duramax thermostat15 Dec 2007 17:52 GMT3
Recently it seems I have to drive 13 miles on flat land before the
engine reaches normal operating temp.
It's about 45 deg F outside.
Does anyone have watched their gage and miles?
1989 3/4 ton 4x4 350 Engine15 Dec 2007 05:09 GMT3
my 89 3/4 ton 4x4 seems to use 1/2 a liter of oil per tank of gas. Is this
normal. It has approx 210,000 Km.
The truck has no oil leak and smoke a puff of blue when starting every once
in a while. oil consumption does vary when pullin my, holiday trailer.
1994 Chevrolet C1500 W/T Alternator Trouble15 Dec 2007 01:12 GMT2
Hello all...
The truck in question is a 1994 Chevrolet C1500 W/T with the 4.3L V6
engine. Its factory alternator gave up the ghost...it would charge at
highway speed or with the engine revved up but never at idle. The
