Easy Q on Tahoe front drive shaft boot30 Jul 2008 02:57 GMT1
I'm going to change the front drive shaft u-joints on a 99 Tahoe old body
style.
There is a boot over the connection at the transfer case. My old boot has
two clamp rings. The new boot I bought from GM came in a kit. The new boot
fastner question29 Jul 2008 07:02 GMT1
Looks like I'm going to have to put a couple of fastners through my fender,
to another overlapping pice.  Probably be two fastners (old truck, simple
repair).  .
What are some good fastners I might use which will blend in on the outside?

paint question28 Jul 2008 18:49 GMT2
I have a '96 S-10 pickup.  Do the VIN nos have my paint code?  If so, which
part is the paint code?
For a given paint code, where is a chart of the colors?
I'm trying to get to a rattle-can of my paint.  Maybe I can find one.
weird rocker adjustment28 Jul 2008 03:23 GMT3
Anybody out there ever seen this in a 454?
After adjusting rockers to 0 lash + 1/2 turn, I turn the motor over,
not starting, and low and behold I can turn the push rod again, and if
I start it, the rockers still clatter.   I am running Crane roller

it?

Howdy.  I have an 86 Chev 1 ton, 454 and auto.
And of course I have a problem and a case of the stupids today.
The choke light and fast idle are staying on all the time.
I figured a short in the choke wiring and haven't found anything.
Q: Torque spec for transfer case drain plugs26 Jul 2008 19:59 GMT6
I need to change the fluid in my 99 OBS Tahoe's transfer case.
Both the NPT drain plugs and the case are looking mighty soft. Can any of
you techs tell me how tight to tighten the plugs?...maybe a torque spec from
the guides? I'd like to just set the torque wrench and be safe.
98 S-10 Fluid leak26 Jul 2008 02:15 GMT4
Strange leak under passenger side, between wheel well and firewall. Seems to
be coming from lower side of the air conditioner condenser. The plastic box
or cover where  the 2 AC lines go in. The fluid appears to be radiator
fluid, it has the greenish color and does not appear to be ...

Trans fluid in the Cooling system21 Jul 2008 16:25 GMT6
I got trans fluid in my cooling system, so I replaced the radiator and
the upper hose, and flushed the system with a DIY kit.  Anyway I ran
some Super radiator flush through and I am still seeing quite a bit of
fluid in the new radiator.  What is the best way to clean out the
Fuel sensor issue21 Jul 2008 04:44 GMT7
I have a 1988 Chevy S10 pickup with a fuel sensor issue.  The gauge will
only go up to about 1/2 mark when full.  With the sensor disconnected (open
circuit) the gauge goes all the way to full, leading me to believe the gauge
itself is OK.  I replaced the sensor in the tank with ...
