The local dealer, Tuttle-Click in Tustin CA wants $535.00 to do this job on my '97 Grand Caravan 3.8 (Nippondenso starter). Does this amount look right? ..opinions?

Sometime back, a poster described his experience when changing the fuel pump on his '88 Chrysler mini-van. He mentioned that the fuel pump and inlet screen were coated with a thick gooey substance, which I am guessing was varnish.

I am going to replace the the tailgate of our 96 t&c (dent, rust and rust out on bottom) with a salvage yard one. The guy from the salvage yard says that it would be another $95 to have my glass put in. Can I do that myself? Is it only a bracket holding the glass in?

THey claim that a K&N filter would improve fuel economy. What I would like to ask the community is if K&N increases air flow, shouldn't the computer adjust to put more fuel to make the mixture right?. So maybe you get more power but how can it get better fuel economy. Anybody ...
