Big Repair Bill19 Nov 2004 04:42 GMT7
Well, it finally happened.  I've been hearing a lot of talk about
expensive repair bills on these trucks.  But so far, mine has run really
well.  For 60K miles, routine maint only.  Never had to actually fix
anything.
04 Dakota Mileage Question19 Nov 2004 02:45 GMT6
I'm new to this group and to the Dodge brand as well.
Oct 1st picked up my brand new 04 Dakota Ext. Cab, 2wd, 4.7, 5spd.
In the past month and a half I've clocked about 2400k miles so far.
My question is what kind of gas mileage can I expect from this truck?
TAPPING NOISE18 Nov 2004 18:55 GMT6
Whenever I accelerate a little aggresively, I hear a fast tapping noise from
the engine. It dies off when I ease back on the gas or reach a constant
speed. Any ideas? I have an '01 Ram 1500 V8 4wd.......Thanks
Oddity in my Ram18 Nov 2004 16:01 GMT4
This might be because my tailpipe is falling apart? Backpressure, etc.?
But lately, when driving my 99 Ram 4X4, when I'm going pretty fast,
above 30mph, and let off the gas for whatever reason, the engine revs
higher for a very short period, maybe one second, than goes down.
High Altitude and Diesels18 Nov 2004 05:29 GMT12
I'm fixin to trade up my 2000 Dak for an 03  2500 Diesel.
When I'm not toolin' 'round Texas, I'm up in the Colorado mountains.
The model I'm looking at is a QC SB Laramie Cummins SO.
I'm wondering if I should hold out for an HO model.  The dealer said
Online pre filter parts for '94 Ram250018 Nov 2004 04:16 GMT3
I've checked NAPA, and other autopart store to obtain a pre fuel filter
replacement kit. Where online can you order Ram Diesel parts? This part goes
into the prefilter next to the lift pump on a 94 Ram2500 5.9L Cummins turbo.
Cummins recommend this filter be changed aprox 12000 ...
Brake fluid leak17 Nov 2004 02:41 GMT13
I have a brake fluid leak in my Dodge Ram [1500/v6 engine] that is
progressively getting worse. I've continued to top off my brake fluid
so that the brake system continues to work OK. Right now I have to
fill the master cylinder-resevoir up about 1/2 to 3/4's of the way
4" Lift16 Nov 2004 23:17 GMT1
What is the biggest size tires I could fit on my 85 Prospector after a 4"
lift?
99 Dak: Close to 100K16 Nov 2004 18:53 GMT2
I can say that I have learned so much from newsgroups over the years and
hopefully have been able to share a bit of that with others too.  Maybe you
all have some experiences with this.
My 1999 Dodge Dakota Sport (single cab, V6, 3.9) is sitting at around 96,000
OT: Scott Peterson found Guilty16 Nov 2004 17:58 GMT6
Scott Peterson was found guilty of First Degree Murder of his wife,
Lacy.   I never saw enough hard evidence that would have proven that
to me, "beyond a shadow of doubt", but then I was not in the court
room.
Blower Motor Resistor16 Nov 2004 03:27 GMT4
Group...
I received good help from the group on my Blower Motor Resistor problem. The
dealer part cost less than $12 so my saving by doing it myself was at least
$83.
99 Dak: Low Coolant/No Leaks!16 Nov 2004 00:09 GMT6
All,
Let me know what you think.  I have noticed that when I get out of my truck
I can smell the sweet scent of warm antifreeze. Thorough inspections don't
show any sign of leaks at all.  I checked the fluid level and it was pretty
1988 Dodge Ram 50 Runs Rough15 Nov 2004 16:37 GMT3
My 1988 Dodge Ram 50, 2.6 liter Mitsu engine begins to run rough and
cutout when I approach 55 mph, runs great at idle and lower power
settings. This same symptom occurs at any speed when I get to an
incline, hill, etc. This morning she finally just quit altogether.
O/T "black boxes" 15 Nov 2004 12:35 GMT192
WASHINGTON - Some safety and privacy experts are reacting with apprehension,
others with all out condemnation over a recent ruling by the National
Transportation Safety Board (search) to require electronic data recorders or
"black boxes" in all new cars manufactured in the United ...
