Tuning for Economy (second try)?26 Dec 2004 21:40 GMT3
(If this is showing up twice, I apologize.  I posted it a few days ago and
it appears [to my news reader] to have never shown up.  Anyway:)
I recently picked up a real cherry of an '89 Dodge van
(http://www.befumo.com/new_van.htm), which I fully intend to keep for a
Transmission shift ? - 98 RAM 150026 Dec 2004 21:37 GMT2
I have a 98 Ram 1500 5.2 auto that has suddenly developed a shifting
problem.  Very light throttle will shift 1-2 at 2800 rpm, higher with
more gas.  It also downshifts early.  It acts like it thinks the
throttle is open 25-50% more than it is.  The trans does not appear to
Dakota V6 Fuel economy26 Dec 2004 20:51 GMT4
I had a 1990 Dakota V6 3.9 Club Cab Auto that I sold when it reached
200,000 miles.   I then came across a cherry 1996 Dakota V6 3.9 Auto
Club Cab which I bought.  Although I am a very conservative driver I
am getting poorer fuel mileage than I did with the 1990.

Can someone tell me which one this is. I thinking the top on the passenger
side but not sure. If so can it be removed without dropping the exhaust?
Merry Christmas to all you rednecks26 Dec 2004 02:46 GMT3
You might be a  redneck if. . .
You take the time to straighten the flag on your front porch when you
come home from a long day at work.
It never occurred to you to be  offended by the phrase, "One nation,
1999 Ram Excessive Fuel Use25 Dec 2004 22:19 GMT16
I have a 1999 Ram with a 318, auto and 180 000 kms. Recently the truck
started using tons of fuel. Its maintenance has been kept up and I am the
original owner. Recently took to Dodge dealer and was checked on their
computer. It showed their was no codes. The 02 sensor comes up as ...
Wheel compatibility on Caravans/Voyagers25 Dec 2004 11:59 GMT3
Are the wheels from a '94 Dodge Caravan (standard model) compatible with a
1989 Chysler Voyager SE? Or is there some measurement I can make to determine if
it is? I am selling my old '94 wheels and a potential buyer has an '89 Voyager,
but I don't know if the wheels will work for ...

OT belt24 Dec 2004 22:48 GMT4
Today my wife hit a snow drift  with her 99 Town and Country and knocked off
the serpintine belt and packed that side of the engine with snow and ice. Of
course I have no garage and it is cold and windy. What a PITA that job was.
Only took 2 hours to do a 5 minute job. I did ...

Dakota-Tailgate Problem24 Dec 2004 03:24 GMT2
I purchased an 04 Dakota Ext Cab 4.7L 5spd this Oct.
It was brand new when purchased, any way about 2 weeks later
I put the tailgate down to load up and when I attempted to close it,
it would not lock. The catch mechanisms appeared to be working fine they
Weird noise24 Dec 2004 03:22 GMT12
I have a 2004 Dakota 4X4 with a V8 engine and automatic trans.  The other
morning when the temp. was 18 F (this is the first time it has been that
cold this year in Fayetteville NC)  it made the weirdest noise when revving
the engine.  It was a high pitched squeak or like finger ...

Diesel Brands?24 Dec 2004 01:41 GMT10
Which is the supposed best?  I've heard both the Cummins and the Chevys are
strong runners.  How are the Fords and the GMCs?
Sealing Compound to use on 1/8" engine fittings?23 Dec 2004 23:58 GMT3
I am installing a bunch of 1/8" NPT fittings into an engine (26 year
old Onan DJE generator). I would like to make sure that no matter
what, the engine oil sealed off by the fittings, does not spill.
Should I use teflon tape (which is a hassle), or is there some nice
