| Replace Cat Converto - 98 Dakota | 31 Jan 2006 04:50 GMT | 8 |
The Catalytic converter on my 98, 3.9L Dakota needs to be replaced. The ceramic must have come loose inside and it is rattling to beat the bear. I'm not getting any faults yet, so I guess it is still working but I can't stand the rattling.

| A question to settle a discussion | 31 Jan 2006 00:41 GMT | 8 |
Ok, folks, a friend and I were discussing the first generation Chrysler electronic ignition. He says you can use one as a transistor ignition module by connecting a set of points to pin # 4. I disagree. There's a 12 pack of Pepsi One riding on who is right.

| sluggish tranny cause | 30 Jan 2006 03:54 GMT | 1 |
In cold weather, the tranny in a '97 2500 diesel is sluggish getting started. A dealer told the owner something like the problem is a valve that is draining down the fluid when turned off and it has to pump the fluid up.

| P-0307; the final repair bill | 30 Jan 2006 03:00 GMT | 9 |
Moral of the story: Never take a misfire code P030(x) for granted. Aka keyswitch "code 43" The fix can be as simple as rerouting the plug wires so they don't arc between them (TSB 18-48-98), or it can be difficult and very-very expensive.

| 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Transfer Case | 29 Jan 2006 07:10 GMT | 1 |
231D or 231HD? I had my transfer case go to pot and I'm trying to figure out what to do. The manual and the dealership say it needs a 231HD. All the shops I've talked to and all the websites (that aren't Dodge-sponsored) say 231D. Are they the same or what?
