Cummons Out The Door10 Sep 2006 01:33 GMT23
I was watching a motor show and they said more than likely Dodge will be
dropping the Cummins engine from the dodge truck line in favor of a Mercedes
diesel sometime around 2010 after the Cummins contract expires.

Hey Everyone,
Dirtclod here again with yet another question.  In my 2000 CTD 2500
4X4,  the driver side map light broke.  The small spring in the swith
has broken or came out.  I had the dealer order a new one but I can't
HELP Starting and Stalling Problem LONG09 Sep 2006 15:48 GMT6
My problem started as a nuisance and progressively worsened into a
disabled vehicle.
I have a 1994 Dodge B2500 Ram Van, 3.9 L, MPFI with 88k.  A few months
ago it would occasionally crank excessively and finally fire up.  I
Intermittent electrical problems09 Sep 2006 14:21 GMT10
::sigh:: when it rains, it pours.
My hubby took the day off, and while driving the truck first the radio
intermittently cut out (display and sound)... driving it a bit later the
radio cut out again, then completely, and he noticed the turn signals
Snowidiots new name....09 Sep 2006 04:03 GMT53
There has been a small discussion in another thread about giving our buddy
Snowidiot a new, more fitting moniker. Myself, I kinda like the name "Anus"
but I'm sure there are many other qualified suggestions out there. Speak up
everybody and may the most popular moniker stick.
Automatic Transmission Identification09 Sep 2006 03:41 GMT3
Where can I find information on identifying automatic transmissions? I
have one running in my 94 that's going bad and I have a "spare" tranny,
but I want to know what it is. It is suppose to be an A998/99 out of an
89, but I'm not sure.
Dakota shifting08 Sep 2006 17:11 GMT1
I have a 93 Dakota 2wd auto 3.9, that lately has been hunting in and out of
O/D, right around 50-55 mph. Any quick thoughts??

used Diesel purchase08 Sep 2006 06:06 GMT5
Gentlemen All:
I am considering the purchase of a 1 or 2 year old 2500 series Ram diesel,
probably with the 4 door cab.  I would like some feedback about whether or
not to shop for the automatic or just have some fun with the 6 speed.  What
2001 Ram 1500 tranny shift issues07 Sep 2006 17:50 GMT7
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 4x4, 108,000KM, 5.2L with the 4-speed
automatic tranny.  A while back, I went through a total mess with the
dealership I bought it from (non-dodge), the problem was that it
wouldn't stay in overdrive.  They replaced the overdrive solenoids, the
95 Ram 2500 power seats07 Sep 2006 15:22 GMT1
Motor runs but seat doesn't move.  Haynes book stops at testing motor
for current which it has.  Is there something simple like a shear pin?
It looks like it runs with a cable.
Cold-Start Rough Idle07 Sep 2006 14:40 GMT2
Ok gentlemen, here is a question from a Canadian Gal. I have a 2001
Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 5.2L (had him since birth). He has recently
developed a rough idle when first starting. Give him a couple minutes
to even out, then runs fine. I've had an entire tune-up done within the

My truck smells - coolant problem!06 Sep 2006 21:42 GMT12
Later I'll post about my first real (sort of) four wheel drive
experience in the Australian Outback (great fun!), but for now:

I'd been noticing on this trip that my truck has a strong smell of
