What's reasonable workmanship for bodywork?30 Oct 2006 11:16 GMT5
Recently, I received my truck back from the body shop, after they fixed
the back fender.  Initially we were quite happy with the work - panel
looks good as new from arm's length.  I have no quarrels with the
quality of bodywork, or the paint matching.  In most light, it is
Low heater temperature30 Oct 2006 11:13 GMT1
Anyone know what the heater output temp should be for a '00 Dakota 3.9,
39k miles? With the temp knob turned all the way right I get 130º at
the floor output and about 100º with the knob straight up. I've read
in other forums people getting 155º. I'd like to get some opinions
Farewell to the group30 Oct 2006 05:58 GMT17
Sold the poorly made Dodge 1500 truck, unlikely to buy another, so I
will be off for some unforeseeable time.
I want to thank all people whose advise was so valuable in making
various repairs to this truck over the years. I want to wish luck to
Ram 2500 w/Cummins30 Oct 2006 04:25 GMT15
I, unfortunately, find myself in need, or great want, of a 3/4 ton
diesel pu. After test driving, I like the Dodge first, then the Ford,
and a distant third is the GMC.  Scratch the GMC.  Ford is suspect
because of the PSD problems.  Cummins is my first choice, but then I'm
FREE 1999 Dodge RAM Repair Manual CDROM29 Oct 2006 10:55 GMT1
Since I got rid of the truck, getting rid of the manual CDROM seems the
only logical choice. It is FREE to the first person to mail their
address to ichudov AT algebra DOT com. There is NO catch and you do
not need to pay postage or send a SASE.

fog light help?28 Oct 2006 21:38 GMT1
Can anyone tell me what type of bulbs go into the fog lights as
replacements?  WOuld rather buy the bulb before pulling the light
assembly apart.  Thanks for your help.
Herds of crickets!27 Oct 2006 21:16 GMT11
A little while back, the truck started making a little noise when
backing up - like a cricket, just a couple of peeps, then nothing.
Then, I started noticing the noise occasionally, but only when the truck
window was open.  Now I can hear it with the window is closed - it
2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4 tire sizing27 Oct 2006 19:42 GMT6

same model and year with LT285-75R-16..........will using a slightly
larger tire mess up gearing or affect the transmission (automatic) or

starting problems '01 Ram 250027 Oct 2006 17:31 GMT4
I've been having adventures in starting with this truck and I was wondering
if any fault code data is retrievable that
would help in diagnostics.  I don't want to take it to a shop just for them
to be changing parts to find out what's wrong.

Dakota pinion bearing bad27 Oct 2006 05:21 GMT2
I am thinking of fixing this myself. It is a 2001 Dakota 4x4 with
the V-6. I have done major overhauls on motorcycles, lawnmowers and
such, but I have never had the chance to do a rearend job. I assume
there are some tricks that I should know, can you help me? Any special
Gauges 2001 Dodge Ram27 Oct 2006 04:09 GMT8
Went to start my truck today and my gauges stopped working.  Been
working fine since day one.  Truck runs perfect.  The odometer says "No
Bus".  Up towards the map lights where the temperature reads, it states
"CCd".  Check engine, ABS, Fuel Light, and Air Bag light are on.  Will
