2001 Ram 1500 Oxygen sensor19 Mar 2007 16:57 GMT2
Check engine light came on. (84,500 miles on the 2001 V6) I had
Autozone test it. Says O2 sensor is failing. But he mumbled about it
being the "second bank" sensor. I never clearly understood what he was
trying to explain, I think the readout on the testor said "PO128."
Dodge; the billionaire's choice19 Mar 2007 01:17 GMT4
Just in case you're on the fence, Jim Walton, heir to the Wal-Mart
fortune and worth something on the order of $18.2 billion, chooses  an
'02 Dakota pickup as his daily driver.

WTF!! Doesn't DC think???17 Mar 2007 01:18 GMT37
Getting ready to haul my skinny a.s to FL next month, then to Denny's in a
couple of months and it hit me. This car that I bought, that has put a smile
on my face every time I drive it, has one big friggin' shortcoming.
No damn spare tire!!!!! Not even a cheater! Not even a jack ...
318 has me baffled....16 Mar 2007 23:33 GMT6
92 Dakota 318 Magnum MPFI AT  210k Miles
A pristine little extend cab pickup - never had a valve cover off. I'm
67yo and this will probably be my "final" vehicle.
Truck runs and idles perfectly, until it will suddenly begin missing

727 in a 79 W150 (360 fulltime 4x4).  At 214K time to do some motor

New Heater Core Smell16 Mar 2007 11:36 GMT7
I just had my heater core replaced at the dealer and now when I turn
on my heater I get a metallic smell. I'm assuming this is from the new
heater core. Does this go away after a while?

'06 2500 Ram OBD basic questions16 Mar 2007 03:57 GMT6
I would like to buy a reader for my truck.  I have heard they are
proprietary, and only dealers have them.  What's the truth?
Any recommended brands?
What is the process to reset the engine light?  I know there's no sense to
2000 Ram CTD Starter update - it's not the starter16 Mar 2007 03:49 GMT6
I finally changed out the starter today.
Turned the key and nothing.
No clicks or sounds except the test chime when the vehicle is first started.
I get no engine light either.
ABS & Brake warning lights15 Mar 2007 06:15 GMT8
My '97 Dakota has the ABS & Brake warning lights on in the dash.  The brakes
are still working with no apparent difference.  Would it be safe to still
drive this truck until I can get it in to be scanned, probably a couple of
days?  I did the checks as indicated in my Haynes ...
replace fan clutch because of a noise?15 Mar 2007 03:41 GMT7
Already got it replaced ($250) on my truck (which has about 90k
miles), but what's "haunting" me is should you replace things like
that just because they make a squealing/screeching/.... noise?   At
the time, i just listened to the mechanic who said i should replace it
Snoball Defense System v1.0115 Mar 2007 01:46 GMT2
Latest updated 03-14-07
Here are defenses Snoball (aka SnoMan) falls back on everytime he knows
he's lost the argument... Aside from disappearing.
Don't bother reading a "quote" to many times, it may not make any sense
2002 Dakota caliper spring14 Mar 2007 22:12 GMT1
There is a pretty hefty spring / clip of some sort on the outside of
the caliper, fits into a couple of holes on the caliper and pushes
against the slides.
That spring is missing on the other side.  It seems like the brakes
Track bar14 Mar 2007 19:00 GMT2
My track bar was replaced last June (the 1st one lasted 8 years) ~113K
miles. Recently replaced the tires and had an alignment. The alignment tech
told me the track bar was on its way out. He demonstrated this by turning
the steering wheel and showing that  where the track bar ...
