Are full-size trucks bought for utility or ego?16 Dec 2008 03:16 GMT134
The subject line is phrased as a question, but a study of American
streets shows the answer.
At least half of people driving full-size trucks (and SUVs) could live
with something more efficient. Probably 2/3rds of them could. Large
Detroit Rescue Plans Revealed15 Dec 2008 21:56 GMT60
With Congressional hearings starting Tuesday, everyone wonders what pitch
the Detroit automakers will use to try to convince Congress - and more
importantly, the public - that spending taxpayer money will rescue them.
Bits and pieces have leaked, and its time to start evaluating ...
Recall 2001-2002 Dakota, Durango, Ram van and 2002 Ram pick-up trucks15 Dec 2008 15:42 GMT12
With the recent fun I've had with my 2001 Dakota shifter jamming in the Park
position I'm wondering if anyone in the group has had the work done on their
units regarding the following recall:
Chrysler is recalling 576,418 MY 2001-2002 Dakota, Durango, Ram van and MY
Help with 2002 Dakota15 Dec 2008 14:12 GMT3
Sorry for another question but things just seem to keep happening:
My brother has a 2002 Dodge Dakota truck with a v6. 150,000 miles. He
took it to Midas and had a new heater core, coolant flush, etc a month
ago. Spent about 700 bucks.
Heater vent problems09 Dec 2008 04:56 GMT1
2006 Dodge 2500 four door cab, not maxicab.
Heater wouldn't work properly.  Took off access plate by passenger's foot,
and reached up.  Found a door that was meant to swing, approximately 3" x
6".  Ear broken off one end.  Took the door out, as it was just hanging

Short attention spans + cheaper gas = resumption of gluttony06 Dec 2008 23:05 GMT2
http://xrl.us/ozxpm (news: $heeple are buying more large SUVs & trucks
recently)
Are people shortsighted enough to resume buying gas-hogs because of a
recession-based demand drop that's lowered oil prices temporarily?
Grrrrrrrrrrr.............06 Dec 2008 17:10 GMT11
Had to do an oil change on my '06 2500 w/Cummins.  Went and bought a FRAM,
as that was what the store had, and I wasn't paying attention.  I usually
use Fleetguard, but was out.
The oil filter is barely accessible from underneath.  Man, the engineers who
PTO accessories?06 Dec 2008 03:21 GMT6
Ok, I've been wondering about the PTO hookups I have on
my 2500 QC and have always wondered....what can you do
with these?  What can I run?  And where do I find out what I'd
need and how much it'd cost?
92 Dakota Flunked Smog05 Dec 2008 04:17 GMT8
I got this truck back from my kid cause it wouldn't pass smog and new cars
were calling to him.  He said what didn't pass was the vapor return system
has a leak.  I pressured up the fuel tank with an air hose (excess pressure
passing past the small rag) and used soapy water ...
2001 Dodge Dakota Recirculation Door02 Dec 2008 01:44 GMT2
We have a 2001 Dakota Quad Cab and it has started allowing air to come
through the air vents when the truck is moving. Although the switch is
set to off air still flows through the vents as the truck is
traveling. I believe the recirculation door is a fault but I don't
