rejected inspection29 Sep 2004 23:09 GMT26
Could someone help me please - what are the consequences of driving
in New York with a New Jersey car with a rejected inspection sticker
(if it is >60 days after the inspection date).  Are policeman likely
to stop such a car?  If they do, and I get a ticket, are there going
Thoughtless Bitch Du Jour29 Sep 2004 15:36 GMT3
Actually two thoughtless bitches. One was driving a minivan and had
stopped in the middle of a driveway that is shared by a shopping
center and a McDonald's. Since this entrance was blocked, I went on to
the next one, which was on the other side of the McDonald's. I

Why are gas prices up so much29 Sep 2004 06:41 GMT16
In the past 24 hours, gas prices jumped 10 cents.  Did I miss
something on the news?  Did another war start or something, or is Bush
jyst getting greedy again?

What the article doesn't point out if it's true the bike can only go
165, the 4.39 seconds which the cop supposedly timed really was 5.45
seconds, which equals 165 mph.
Hey cops?29 Sep 2004 01:10 GMT25
What do you think of the VW commercial where the salesman coerces the woman
to pass a cop?
When someone passes you, how likely are you to "let them know of your
displeasure"?
Clutch/driving question28 Sep 2004 22:49 GMT11
When shifting a stick-shift back to neutral, and leaving the
transmission in neutral (e.g. coasting to a stop), is it necessary (or
helpful) to push the clutch pedal in?
I've asked a few friends this and the answer was "not necessary, but
Do You Do This?28 Sep 2004 07:49 GMT16
When you go to someone's house whom you do not know to visit, do you
park in their driveway?
Twice tonight people have rung my doorbell. Apparently there is some
sort of support group meeting being held at XXX South YYY Street; I
House-number painting28 Sep 2004 05:47 GMT2
The other day somebody left a notice on our door saying that <some
charitable organization> was going to be in my neighborhood in a few
weeks and if I wanted to have my curb street number repainted a $16
contribution was in order;  if in addition I wanted a red/white/blue

What do they mean by "CAMPING"27 Sep 2004 20:07 GMT3
I recently was on the road for many hours and was real tired.  It was
about 1am when I pulled into a wayside.  This was a small wayside out
in the middle of nowhere, and no other vehicles were there.  There was
a sign posted that said "No Overnight Camping".  I was too tired to
there needs to be a special blinker for U-turns27 Sep 2004 20:03 GMT23
When you are making a U-turn at an intersection, besides turning on
your left blinker, how do you signal your intentions to make a U-turn
and not a left turn?
I've been in many near-collisions because of this uncertainty.
What Kind of problem is this?27 Sep 2004 18:28 GMT1
I'm driving along and all the control gauges( i.e. Tach, Fuel, etc) die for
about a second and then come back on again.  The engine continues to run, but
the battery warning light is on while the gauges are dead.  The mechanic says
maybe its a bad relay, or the onboard computer chip ...
