I've decided to sell my Passport Escort 8500 Radar detector. I got it last

It detects, X, K, Ka, and Laser ( it goes nuts with laser, scares the crap

Conviction of man who slammed on brakes upheld05 Mar 2005 18:03 GMT34
On usenet one reads a lot of assertions that a rear end collision is
always the fault of the rear driver.  Here is the Vermont Supreme
Court's decision in a case where the guy who slammed on his brakes
was convicted of grossly negligent driving:

about anti-bush car stickers05 Mar 2005 15:23 GMT40
I'm a strong supporter of the free speech, but I think that insulting
anti-Bush car stickers are illegal, because they are meant to enrage other
motorists, regardless of their political views, thereby increasing the
chances of road rage. There must be laws about public endangerment ...
RLCs Can Be a Good Thing05 Mar 2005 02:38 GMT73
I've come to the realization that RLCs, if implemented correctly,(*)
are ultimately a Good Thing.
Let's assume Dave C. is correct, and that, at least initially, Driver

They're Rakin' it in in the OC05 Mar 2005 02:13 GMT4
This morning as I pulled onto the freeway a CHP unit had a Ford Escort
pulled over just past the end of the on-ramp. Apparently they had just
finished their business, as the Escort pulled out in front of me (not
cutting me off, mind you, but defintely driving little a little

Hitting deer with sports car?04 Mar 2005 19:35 GMT14
How dangerous is it to hit  a dear with a low ground clearance sports
car compared to a normal height car? My biggest fear is the animal
coming right through the windshield. Is this a legitamate concern? My
car is 2000 Toyota Celica GT. I suppose there are other cars that have

Hey Cory,

Most unusual accident04 Mar 2005 19:05 GMT6
On Friday I was coming home from work and driving down the interstate,
doing about 75mps when I saw two elephants standing in the road, and
one elephant was f.cking the other one.  I slammed on the brakes and
swerved, but the idiot in front of me slammed into the elephants, and

Car abandoned in my yard04 Mar 2005 06:15 GMT17
I moved and have been renting out my old house until I sell it.  My
tenants just moved out and left behind a junk car.  I have not been
able to contact them since they owe me money and left no forwarding
address.  It clearly states in their lease that any property left
Yesterday's Loser04 Mar 2005 05:14 GMT7
Waiting to turn left onto Lake Avenue going north in Pasadena, an
always-humongously-crowded intersection.  There's a left-turn-only green
arrow followed by an "everybody on this side GO" green light, which
means that people who are turning left then have to wait their turn just
how did our oil get under their sand03 Mar 2005 22:49 GMT29
^^ another curious bumper sticker I saw. The way I see it, oil is a global
resource. No nation, Arab especially, should be allowed to hog our oil.
