| Are these people insane? | 10 Mar 2005 16:29 GMT | 44 |
A few day ago I was driving on I465 (the multilane belt around Indy). I moved to the rightmost (first) lane to pass a white SUV with smoked windows doing maybe 60 in the second lane. Note that the rightmost was the only free lane at that point. Not far ahead of us,

| transmission flushes? | 10 Mar 2005 04:33 GMT | 2 |
What do you think of transmission flushes or changing transmission fluid more often than specified in owners masuals (usually 100,00 miles or never). Think about it, some people do overkill by changing their engine oil every 3,000 miles, but they never even think about changing ...

| Temporary Work in Californa & Car Registration | 09 Mar 2005 07:51 GMT | 2 |
I will be working in Northern California (outside of the Bay Area) for about 4 or 5 months. I understand that CA is a stickler about car registration since they insist that if you are there for more than 20 days working, you must get CA plates.

| And You Wonder Why I Want 400HP... | 09 Mar 2005 04:27 GMT | 18 |
So I'm stuck behind a micro-passing LLB. Posted Speed Limit: 75 MPH; Sloth Passer's speed: 65 MPH. Unfortunately, he's passing a line of speed-governed semis. After many agonizing minutes, we reach a gap in the semis where this guy could easily move right and allow the long

| 1995 Mercury Sable GS -- Overdrive Transmission | 09 Mar 2005 02:45 GMT | 8 |
My girlfriend has a 1995 Mercury Sable GS with Overdrive Transmission. We don't use overdrive around town because we have both heard people say using it for town (stop and go) driving stresses it and to only use it on the freeway and on long trips.

| Whats a Flashing RIGHT-TURN Arrow For? | 09 Mar 2005 02:28 GMT | 1 |
I was driving in the SF East Bay in a business park, and this side street goes into a main street. You can ONLY turn right. Instead of a simple STOPSIGN, they put a flashing red RIGHT Turn Arrow. Whats the diffence? Both mean complete stop before proceeding.

| Line Cutting | 09 Mar 2005 00:46 GMT | 30 |
There's an interesting article in today's Seattle Times about line cutting; focused on one particular area where it *IS* illegal (not illegal in general). http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2002192177_lanecheaters28m.html

I was driving around the other day, passed an intersection. I slowed down a bit because I was looking for a place on the side of the road (a gas station, I missed it). Traffic was picking up a bit, and I was really trying to concentrate on the road ahead, so I couldn't pay too ...

Infinity Q-something SUV in my subdivision today. The idiot at the wheel was slowing down dramatically for every crack in the pavement and the most minor curve. What a cretin.

| I want to save the planet/fight oil dependence, but I want a safe car too... | 08 Mar 2005 19:26 GMT | 52 |
I'd like to get a car. Not just any car, but one that's not a gas guzzler. But also one that's safe. I really like the concept of a hybrid car. My only beef? There's really only 3 choices in hybrids. The Honda Insight is too small, not enough seats. The Honda Civic Hybrid ...

| thinking about buying a temporary car | 08 Mar 2005 16:41 GMT | 166 |
I am thinking about buying a smaller car to drive for a year or so until the Prius price-gouging and shortages stop. My criteria is I want decent gas mileage, it MUST be a car (no SUV's or trucks), it should handle OK, and I want side-curtain airbags or side airbags in the front ...
