Another Regional Difference21 May 2005 05:55 GMT26
Here in the ArkLaTex, the "hot" vehicles are mid 80s GM vehicles,
especially Oldsmobiles. Rusty '85 Cutlasses with bling-bling wheels,
vinyl tops, and tinted windows are EVERYWHERE - and ricemobiles are
few and far between. They still like stickers, though - only instead
caught speeding by following21 May 2005 04:26 GMT31
Hi I just got a speeding ticket. Cop caught the guy in front of me on
radar going 76 and because I was behing him he says I was speeding also
but put on the ticket I was going between 70-75.
Does anybody think I can fight this ticket, since I was never caught on
Should drunk drivers and speeders be micro-chipped??21 May 2005 02:04 GMT52
If we're not gonna throw these killers and maimers in prison where
they belong, shouldn't we at least put chips in their arms so we'll
know at all times where these criminals are?  If you say no, you're a
criminal coddler.
Long term parking near nyc20 May 2005 20:39 GMT8
I'm visiting new york city for the summer, and need a place to
store/park my car for three months.  I don't care how far away from nyc
the parking/storage place is, as long as nyc is accessible by public
transportation.  I would like the parking garage to be in a safe place

Poorly setup stop light19 May 2005 22:25 GMT7
I've ranted about this light previously - Its infront of a middle school
entrance and usually is on flash except during the time that the school
is opening or letting out.
See here (http://tinyurl.com/atuw3) for an overview of the intersection
Lighting question - different from most.19 May 2005 16:20 GMT5
Most folks want to know about the front end of the car WRT lighting
issues.  Not me.  I want to know about tail lamp and brake bulbs.
Which brand/manufacturer makes the brightest brake and tail lamp bulbs?
I need to do a replacement on one, so I figure to replace them all at
right or priviledge ... at what point do you assert?19 May 2005 15:45 GMT67
All,
States maintain that riding/driving a motor vehicle on public rights-of-way
is a "privilege" granted by the "State" but there is considerable debate
that free persons have a right of travel that cannot be removed unless by
Autobahn Accident Data18 May 2005 20:15 GMT1
Looking for information to answer the following question:
What percentage of high speed (say >100MPH) accidents on the Autobahn
involve multiple vehicles?
Would appreciate any pointers to where I could find this data.  I'm
What time of year for Texas do the powerful winds sieze from the planes?18 May 2005 19:38 GMT16
I will be traveling to texas via car for the second time in my life.
The first time I drove to San Antonio TX the crosswinds off of I10 were
so powerful that my compact Saturn SL2 nearly got blown off the road.
I forgot what time of the year that way.

Businesses who don't see fit to prominently display their street number on
their front door or window.   Trying to watch for traffic (and bicyclists)
while searching for an elusive business name or number is a real bitch.
400 HP or more?18 May 2005 03:34 GMT26
Which unmodified new cars have more than 400 HP, are generally
available, and cost less than $40,000?   GTO?  Special Mustangs?
As a back-up question, which unmodified new cars generally available
can get from 0 to 60 in less than 6 seconds and cost less than $40,000?
What Vehicles fall under this category?18 May 2005 01:50 GMT21
In North America, I'm looking for a vehicle with either awd/rwd/4x4,
diesel/turbo diesel, and a manual transmission.  Does it exist?  All I
can find are diesel VW's that don't have the set up I want since they
are all fwd (terrible).  And then there are the full sized trucks that

Driving down a local road at the 35mph speed limit, a woman in a large
pick up runs a stop sign to make a left turn, crossing my path. I sound
the horn and brake hard. The woman flicks her hand at me as if to flip me
off in a gesture that clearly means 'f.ck you'. I see her ...
