General Murders recalls 800,000 SUVs and PUs31 Aug 2005 23:43 GMT9
A handful of minor injuries and no deaths and they do all this while
continuing to sell millions of cars that will do 100+ mph and result
in thousands of highway murders every year.

Make penalties for speeding proportional to the vehicle weight31 Aug 2005 18:35 GMT47
The more massive the vehicle, the more risk it poses to other drivers.
Only right that the punishment for this deadly crime should go up as
the vehicle weight does.  This measure would also induce people to
drive small cars and thereby reduce our need to send soldiers in for

Welcome to North Korea31 Aug 2005 15:56 GMT2
Following Hawaii's lead, lawmakers in the rest of the country are
being pressured to put a cap on gasoline prices. Not only is this
flying in the face of the who capitalist market-based economic system,
but if gas prices are kept artificially low what incentive will the
Breaking In a New Car ...31 Aug 2005 01:53 GMT10
I'm going to be picking up a new car tonight (2006 Hyundai Elantra VE 5
Door Auto) so I've been doing some reading on the best way to break it
in.  However, I've got a few questions regarding some of the common
recommendations.
Idiot!30 Aug 2005 22:30 GMT17
News item on local tv had a short about the high gas prices.
Interviewed a lady complaining that she had just put $78 worth of gas
in her vehicle.  Yup, an SUV.  At first I figured she might have some
reason for the complaint until she identified it as a 2005 Excursion.
Judge orders black boxes put in cars of criminal drivers30 Aug 2005 20:38 GMT66
Sounds like more criminal coddling to me.  Bad drivers are killers and
maimers and i say lock them up forever.  They can't be cured.

Now I Know Why Brent Slaps Fenders30 Aug 2005 17:28 GMT143
Since I started walking to/from the train station every day, I've
noticed just how many a.shole drivers there are out there on the
roads. If you think they're bad to other drivers, you should see what
they do to pedestrians and pedalcyclists. I guess they feel all big

Dood who stole $52  of gas now charged with manslaughter30 Aug 2005 02:21 GMT45
I can see hit-and-run but manslaughter is a stretch here. Is the state
claiming that the driver should have foreseen the station owner would
jump on the car and then fall off and be killed?  BTW -  Driver has a
rap sheet about as bad as President Bush's.
CHINESE CAN'T DRIVE!30 Aug 2005 00:46 GMT14
I'm not sure how the Chinese get their driver licenses but they should be
viewed as potential criminals in possession of deadly weapons: their
vehicles. While many Chinese like to showoff their Mercedes and BMW, they
seem to have no idea how to drive them nor do they know how to ...

Do you think popping a sunroof up while the car is parked in the sun
actually makes the interior cooler?  Assuming all the windows are
closed, is the small roof vent enough to make a difference?

10 gb worth of driving...28 Aug 2005 02:35 GMT16
I finally got around to try to record a little of my driving using my
laptop and a webcam, per Scott's suggestion. Can't say it worked great,
although it was in part my 200 MMX laptop's (running XP Pro) fault which
wasn't quite fast enough. The other problems were shitty sound ...
Black and White Geek-mobiles....LOL27 Aug 2005 22:04 GMT1
I heard the CHP is telling the GEEK SQUAD to change the appearance of
their black and white VW Beetles because they look like police cars.
Anyone get pulled over by a VW Beetle?  You see that in your mirror,
you'll be thinking....''Hell, I can outrun that thing.''
