Yet Another Useless Car Alarm19 Sep 2005 07:47 GMT2
Today in the parking lot behind my office building a garbage truck was
emptying the dumpsters when a riced-up Civic with a picnic table on
the trunk lid began false-alarming. It went through 5 or 6 cycles
during the time the garbage truck was nearby; during that time, NOBODY
Why you should never buy a car without a tachometer19 Sep 2005 04:10 GMT112
Over the years I've owned my current ride, I have observed that it is most
fuel-efficient at 3500RPM, where 42MPG is easily attainable.  I have also
observed that, at 3000 RPM or less, the mileage on my vehicle drops to 35MPG
or lower.  My experience with my current vehicle is ...

In Arizona, if you get into a collision and don't have insurance, the
cops impound your car.

These could have been my last driving experiences...17 Sep 2005 20:39 GMT5
...for the foreseeable future.
I chose to spend my last six months or so left in Canada in the Yukon
Territory way up north, and I've picked up a few experiences from here,
driving and otherwise.
Toyota - haggling17 Sep 2005 19:58 GMT14
I have my eye on a 2006 Toyota Matrix. Does anyone have any knowledge on how
fixed Toyota is on their price quotes? In other words, do they "bargain?"

Properly maintained tires improve gas milage?17 Sep 2005 00:58 GMT58
I'm a total novice when it comes to cars and now that I'm living on my
own after college I'm trying to make sense of car upkeep myself.
Overall my 2000 Jetta seems to be running well and gets pretty decent
gas milage.  (I don't keep track but my gas bills are never awful)
16 year old kid doing 54 in a 45 mph zone charged with vehicular homicide16 Sep 2005 22:43 GMT8
Interesting, since the criminal coddling republicans say it was proper
to NOT charge laura bush with vehicular homicide because "she was only
17."

Travel to Canada w/ Criminal Record16 Sep 2005 22:04 GMT46
Hey, I have a criminal record from the mid-90's and also 2000, for a few
counts of bad checks and theft, and also some driving under suspension
(suspended for failure to appear). All misdemeanors/minor charges. I am
planning on driving to Canada (Montreal) in a few years to get ...
WE MUST BRING BACK THE 55 MPH SPEED LIMIT16 Sep 2005 17:25 GMT144
These soaring gas prices make it a 2 + 2 is 4.  We simply have to cut
back on consumption. And the 55 would also save thousands of lives a
year just like it did in the 70s.
News Flash: There is NO Fast Lane16 Sep 2005 17:12 GMT21
Interesting fact: back in the early 70s, some California freeways
actually had signage which indicated that the speed limit in some
lanes was higher than in the adjacent lanes. The posted limit in the
#1 lane might be 65 MPH, while the speed limits in the #2, #3, and #4

Trailer hitch questions?16 Sep 2005 00:01 GMT16
To what part of the car frame are the hitches mounted?
How much down (tongue) weight will they carry?
Would it be safe to lift a car using the hitch as the lifting point?
Thanks,
