Idiot sloth almost causes 4 car pileup14 Jan 2006 20:15 GMT10
On my way home today, I was coming up to a light that the. ahem,
traffic engineers just redid.  As you can expect, the light went from
well designed to crap.  Oh, and they lowered the speed limit.
Anyhow, there is a sloth driver ahead of me, doing under the speed
Phew!14 Jan 2006 19:56 GMT27
Now that 30% of the oil production in this country has been shut down
for an indeterminate period of time by Hurricane Katrina, I'm
*especially* glad that I bought a house within easy walking distance
of shopping and public transit. Looks like gas prices are prepared to
Watering down the brand14 Jan 2006 19:26 GMT20
Why do car manufacturers insist on watering down their brand?  Owning
a Mercedes, Porsche, or BMW used to mean something.  It used to mean
that you were in an elite class of people who were successful enough
to own a top of the line machine.  The cost of these cars put them
Cushman van?14 Jan 2006 04:07 GMT4
Had to stop by a job site this AM before work to swap out some parts;
saw something I hadn't seen before.  A little van, looking more than
anything like a scale model of one of those new Freightliner things,
with a big "CUSHMAN" emblem on the back.  It looked like it was
SF : When Do They Tow and Not Tow ?13 Jan 2006 20:39 GMT31
I was in my commerical truck, parked in a yellow zone, and the SF DPT
cops were tagging regular vehicles parked in the yellow zones.  The tow
trucks pull up, and they point at a mini-van, and proceed to hook it up
and tow it away.  I was wondering, whats the criteria for towing and
Exxon-Mobil earned 24 BILLION Dolars in profit last year13 Jan 2006 19:54 GMT9
That is $24,000 Million Dollars after all expenses & raises to CEO etc.is
subtracted ....Exxon Mobil always is upping the price of their gasoline 10
or 15 cents before anyone else adopts that price structure.... It would be
good to boycott any Exxon-Mobil product..... Just don't ...
Red light running by MFFY13 Jan 2006 15:25 GMT2
The driver of a newish Toyota Sequoia was in the left lane of a
secondary roadway.  As it neared the intersection, the Toyota driver
pulled in front of me as I was entering the right turn lane.  This
intersection was a No Turn On Red.  The light was green, but instead of
Green Left-turn Arrows(or lack of them)13 Jan 2006 13:52 GMT3
I must be crazy, but hear this out:
Whenever I'm the lead car in the left-turn-only lane(Governed by a
4-element traffic light: red, caution, green, left arrow) the light
almost ALWAYS goes to straight green(no arrow).  I have to wait for the
Sloth Almost Kills Again13 Jan 2006 06:51 GMT17
This comes from the KTLA Morning News (check ktla.com later in the
morning, they will FOR SURE put this video up there; they caught the
entire crash on tape). Apparently a Sloth pulled out in front of an
LAPD officer who was in pursuit of a stolen pickup truck. The officer
Arnold has crash while driving w/o license - Claims law doesn't apply to him13 Jan 2006 03:23 GMT12
This is total bullshit. Putting a sidecar on a motorcycle doesn't mean
it's NOT a motorcycle.  And having his kid with him smacks of child
endangerment. Book him!!

What kind of car is this?11 Jan 2006 17:08 GMT30
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Speeding_Car-140mph.jpg
It's doing 140mph but only 4000rpm. When I'm at that speed, my
car is at 6000rpm. But then again, my redline is 7000 and this car's
redline is only 5000.

Do you like the change Google made regarding post attribution?10 Jan 2006 13:18 GMT1
Now, on the page that lists the threads for a NG, the author name is
same as that of the OP, for all postings to the thread.  Used to be
the author name used was that of the most recent poster to the thread.
No big deal to this dood , but i prefer the old way.
