Oil Independence Day 200623 Jun 2006 06:40 GMT9
High gas prices have created a new group of people -
"pump grumblers."
When pumping our high priced gas, we grumble words of
resentment, while feeling powerless. We need gas, so
caring for a turbo engine?23 Jun 2006 03:30 GMT12
So I'm looking for a new car... test drove a new Subara Impreza 2.5i
yesterday...  too small/seat was uncomfortable, and the 4cyl was rather
weak for my taste.  However, I like Subaru's AWD on every model and
decent reliability, so I'm thinking of heading back to the dealership,

I am living in toronto now. For some reason i have to go back china and
maybe stay there for one year, so I am wondering if there is any chance
that i can drive my Hyundai car from toronto to back China. It probably
takes 2-3months. The key is budget, as my caculating it need
Why is the blame not being placed where it belongs?22 Jun 2006 01:22 GMT47
As a Pittsburgh Steelers fan for many years, I've been following the
Ben Roethlisberger story with some interest, and it concerns me that
the vast majority of comments both from the media and from the general
public (at least as read in the "letters to the editor" section of USA
Some useful inaccuracies21 Jun 2006 21:50 GMT3
Someone recently mentioned another online mapping service, Mapper.Acme.Com.
I took a look at it and found that it was similar to Maps.Google.Com with
one important difference.  It was out of date in many ways.  Most notably,
it included the previous routing of since-relinquished ...
why are interstates that bad for cross country driving?21 Jun 2006 19:11 GMT36
I have never done cross country driving, but, planning to do one some
time next year. I have a basic question. Why are the two lane roads
like US66, US50 or US80 are preferred for cross country driving and not
any interstate? The impression I got is these state roads show off the
Traffic in Santa Barbara Still Sucks21 Jun 2006 16:26 GMT6
I really feel sorry for people living in the Goltea - Carpinteria
corridor (the Santa Barbara, CA metropolitan area). Traffic on the 101
blows dead bears - even at 10:00 PM on a Sunday night! We were stuck
in 5 MPH stop-and-go traffic for almost an hour, from somewhere

We are prepping all the new Lexus for Newport Lexus, scheduled to begin
sales next Wednesday/Thursday.  Needless to say we've been pretty busy.  All
cars are delivered to Tustin Lexus and we have to pick them up individually
and take them to our place in Newport, then return to ...
Questions on TRIPS from Midwest to Seattle21 Jun 2006 04:57 GMT10
I'm planning two upcoming road trips from the Midwest to Seattle, WA.
I'll be moving out there soon and am looking forward to two more
cross-country jaunts.  So far, cross-country jaunts have included NE,
ND, KS, OK, and TX.  Let's hope SD and northern WY will be better . .

A boy and his highway-shield!20 Jun 2006 07:51 GMT7
What's a New York Interstate shield doing in California?  It almost doesn't
make sense.  For me though, it just plain kicks @$s!

Hiding Pedestrian Crossings20 Jun 2006 04:45 GMT12
Around my neighborhood (Kirkland, WA), the city has been putting in
those little sidewalk 'bump-outs' at pedestrian crossings. I guess the
idea is to give pedestrians a shorter distance to cross from curb to
curb. But then they do something I consider to be pretty stupid. They
