Fireworks Are Even More Dangerous Than You Think17 Jul 2006 05:52 GMT26
Letting your kids play in the street is never a good idea. Letting
your kids play with illegal fireworks isn't too bright, either. But
the combination can be deadly.

Man, It Sucked to be You17 Jul 2006 05:52 GMT8
If you were caught in that quagmire on CA-152 today, you have my
condolences. The eastbound side was JAMMED SOLID between Casa de Fruta
and US-101 this afternoon. I haven't seen anything like it since my
little detour through the Laguna Mountains a few months ago.
Speed Limit difference for trucks17 Jul 2006 04:17 GMT43
California and a few other states have different maximum speed limits
for trucks than for other vehicles. (Which other states?)
In California, Cars and Buses have a maximum of 70 MPH when posted;
Trucks, and Autos with Trailers have a maximum of 55 MPH.
Road Rage -- It's not an attitude but an illness.  Pity those who suffer from it.17 Jul 2006 03:30 GMT9
A major medical study funded by the National Institute of Mental
Health, has concluded those drivers who suffer from road rage aren't
really bad-mannered a.sholes, but are people who probably suffer from
an underreported mental illness named Intermittent Explosive Disorder

Favorite SUVs and Why?17 Jul 2006 01:44 GMT14
Just joined the group and I'm curious to learn more about SUVs in
particular...I might be in the market for one soon.  So, in your
opinion what is the best brand...I won't be using it for off-roading
too much.  I do like some of the Jeeps, though don't know if it's the
SOT: PLB cyclists16 Jul 2006 17:31 GMT16
I ended up purchasing a new bicycle due to the fact that the one that I
ended up crashing on was effectively totaled (repair costs were almost
what I purchased the bike for).
In any case, I was riding on the same trail again without problems
NJ to VA reckless driving points transfer question16 Jul 2006 03:20 GMT1
Friend of mine is licensed in NJ and got one of those reckless driving
citations on I-81 in VA.  I'm reading about it and it seems like they
give them out like candy there (anything over 80 mph).  She was hit for
81 mph in a 65.

I was recently in the Bay Area (San Rafael, CA).  A friend who was driving
back to Texas asked me for my suggested route.  My answer was:
I-580 East (then South, then East again, then South again),
I-5 South
No more ticket signing16 Jul 2006 01:52 GMT7
Effective today in the state of WA people will not have to sign
tickets.  The WSP has had several instances of officers getting hit in
the past few months while talking to drivers.  A minor change in
regulations and they did away with the requirements to have the tickets
