| Which features of a car do you consider frivolous? | 25 Jan 2007 13:36 GMT | 276 |
Just imagine how cheap and light - and thus economical - cars would be if the industry made only sub-2500 pound cars and left off all the complicated junk they add on just so they can charge more. I'm leaving out the super-frivolous but minor stuff like the infamous warning light

| School/Twilight Zones | 25 Jan 2007 13:33 GMT | 1 |
Sheesh. I drove through a school zone today. When about half way through it, an ambulance came up behind me. I was in the second lane right of center. The lady on my left and just in front of me didn't see the ambulance. I pulled

| Where do expensive cars go? | 25 Jan 2007 05:36 GMT | 10 |
At one time it seemed like every other car on the road was an Infinity J30. Yesterday I saw one for the first time in what seems like years. What happens to all these relatively expensive Infinities, BMWs, Mercedes, Jags?? It seems like they all just disappear when they are

| Why doesn't Detroit make a car BUILT for low speeds | 25 Jan 2007 02:41 GMT | 55 |
A car with a speed limiter set at say 70 mph. Lots of people would love that esp if they have teenage boys in the family. And I'm sure insurance premiums would be a lot less too. To keep owners from tampering with the limiter, the insurance companies could put a clause

| Will Electric Vehicles Work For Us? | 24 Jan 2007 21:27 GMT | 154 |
OK, lets say that a viable electric vehicle is on the horizon: http://money.cnn.com/2006/09/15/technology/disruptors_eestor.biz2/index.htm The idea is to charge it up and it'll run for 300 miles. It can be fully charged in 5 minutes. A family car would accelerate like a Ferrarri. ...

| Turbo-charging a V8 Mustang: $6000 | 24 Jan 2007 02:02 GMT | 132 |
Saw that on SpikeTV. Wheel HP went up from 270 to 370. Parts cost over $6000, and it was a labor intensive job. Cool, but it doesnt appear to make financial sense. (V8 Mustang invoice + $ 6000) is more than the invoice on a Pontiac GTO or a SRT-8 series
