The Grapevine is Closed Again21 Jan 2007 14:25 GMT28
Once again a little snow has closed the 5. They shut it down yesterday
and don't expect to re-open it until later today. The alternate route
only takes about 45 minutes, but thousands of Truckers have chosen to
spend the night in Castaic (or Arvin) and wait out the closure.
Anyone seen Lambo.mwv?21 Jan 2007 09:23 GMT2
My friend in California sent me a file that has a clip from Italy.  In it,
there is a Lamborghini police car.  500 hp, 309kph, blue flashing lights,
television, electronic recording and recognition devices, lots of stuff.
A nice interview.  Anyone else seen this going around?
Do you speed when tired?21 Jan 2007 09:19 GMT16
I tend to speed when tired, and the more tired I get, the more I speed.
The reason is that I want to get to destination to rest ASAP. Also,
fatigue reduces inhibitions, and that makes me less cautious. Does this
happen to you too?
Chinese Fire Drill21 Jan 2007 08:11 GMT7
I was watching a program about China this afternoon, and I think I know what
the reason for Chinese Fire Drills are.  You know, where the occupants of
the car get out at the light and run around and get back in?

WWJD?21 Jan 2007 06:41 GMT1
You know how some cars (e.g. C6 Corvettes) do not come from the
factory with a proper place to mount a front license plate? In some
cases, the bracket provided by the manufacturer attaches with
double-stick tape(!!!), looks like sh.t, and falls off easily. This is
Amazingly stupid Miata driver21 Jan 2007 04:15 GMT4
Spotted tonight, in Lawrenceville, GA:
A Mazda Miata driver, drifting repeatedly onto the shoulder while an
LCD screen on the center of the dash was playing  video, plainly
visible through the rear window.

Think how dangerous our highways will be if illegals are given amnesty??19 Jan 2007 23:57 GMT18
As everyone knows by now, latin american culture sees nothing wrong
with speeding and drunk driving even when it results in the death of an
innocent person. Now we have millions of these deadly criminals in our
country but as long as they're illegal they know they have to be at
Would bumper-mounted airbags help?19 Jan 2007 21:46 GMT13
They'd be deployed by a collision sensor. They should reduce the
severity of a a collision, but the question is to what extent. Comments?

Take the cameras out of the schools, banks, and offices and put them on the HIGHWAYS19 Jan 2007 13:47 GMT31
99% of the people in america don't break any laws except when they get
on the roads.  Then  nearly all of them turn into criminals who by
their speeding and drunk driving and red light running and other
assorted crimes kill 42,000 americans a year and injure millions and
Darwin Cheated Once Again19 Jan 2007 00:11 GMT31
KTLA reports this morning on a gas station fire. A man was fueling his
pickup truck; just like they tell you NOT to do, he was sitting in the
driver's seat while it was filling up. Apparently he built up some
static charge - when he went back to remove the nozzle, he started a
