Req help for route from Irvine to Bakersfield04 Feb 2007 02:37 GMT12
I have job training in Irvine next week and anticipate being turned
loose on Friday around 4:30PM.
I would be appreciative of any advise on the best route to take for
that time of day to get me back to Bakersfield and north on 99.
More "Speed Kills" Bullshit04 Feb 2007 02:10 GMT10
Sounds like the Tucson Police have been watching too many Speed Racer
cartoons. They think that if you go too fast you pass out and crash
your car...

Escape from L.A.03 Feb 2007 23:29 GMT1
Just my own detailed report of how I escaped through the traffic mess
that closed I-405.  Note that I have intentionally not cross-posted
this to MTR because it has way too much local detail.
I left work (Howard Hughes Center).  Northbound 405 was still moving

GEICO: the most unfunny ads ever02 Feb 2007 03:10 GMT32
Those trying-hard-to-be-funny cavemen and dancing midget ads made me
really hate geico. On the other hadn, State Farm's ads are pretty
good--they are serious ads about collisions and auto insurance, not
about Neanderthals or gekkos for f.cks sake!
Car Rental from Auto Insurance01 Feb 2007 22:48 GMT12
My car was recently stolen. My insurance was going to settle for $23K.
But the car was recovered three weeks later with minor damage. Now
they want to repair it for $7k, but it will take another month to
complete repairs.

Near Milwaukee, a local TV station (CBS 58) had a TV crew out at Big
Muskeo Lake doing a story about being on thin lake ice, when they
discovered, first-hand, the dangers of it.
