México Carretera 4508 Jun 2007 14:59 GMT10
Hot, hot, hot...  Triple-digit temperatures were expected today in the El
Paso/Juárez metropolitan area.  Luckily, the primary border crossing into
the United States is outfitted w/ outdoor aqua mists!
Just added to the Worldwide Highway Library was a video of México's
Ticket for going 48 in a 35 MPH speed zone08 Jun 2007 12:46 GMT40
I received a ticket for going 48 MPH.  The officer said that the speed
limit was 35.  The speed limit changes from 35 to 50 and the officer
was sitting at the road in front of the sign.  I'm not sure if it
matters, but the officer put the wrong address on the ticket.  The
Misleading Control City - Anaheim CA08 Jun 2007 11:15 GMT3
In and around large cities, the use of the actual city name can be far
from useful.  In the Los Angeles area, Caltrans could (but has the
good sense not to) use LOS ANGELES as the Control City as long as any
part of the City of Los Angeles can be reached along a particular

I'm torn - I don't like bumper stickers, but if I were to have one, it

Had to do a double take today07 Jun 2007 04:44 GMT9
I was out on the bike this morning and saw the strangest thing. I was
stopped at a red light waiting for the light to turn green when I hear
sirens to my right - there is an ambulance approaching. Well, the
circular green and green left turn arrow for traffic going the opposite
a green light does not replace a blinking red left- turn arrow!07 Jun 2007 02:51 GMT10
Most left turn collisions with oncomming traffic occur at green lights-
which are found in abundance in Florida! Few left- turn collisions
occur at blinking red arrows.
In Michigan and most NORTHERN states where traffic engineers seem to

Tachometer06 Jun 2007 05:03 GMT29
Inn a four stroke engine, does the tachometer (or the ECU) measure and
report crankshaft rpm or engine rpm? Obviously, the crankshaft rotates
twice for every time the engine goes through a full cycle. So a
reading of 1750 rpm could mean the crankshaft is rotating 1750 times
HA HA!06 Jun 2007 04:53 GMT5
was driving to work this AM, was on the Dulles Toll Road.  I was
actually in the left lane before the "airport only" lanes split off,
because traffic to my right was only going about 45 MPH.  I was looking
for a spot to move right before the split, when a Mini Cooper pulls out
Speeding ticket in PA for an NJ driver06 Jun 2007 02:07 GMT3
I got a speeding ticket today in Pennsylvania on I-78 doing 84 on 55
limit. The officer has written a fine for me.
I also gather than Pennsylvania does share info with NJ so i would get
2 point assessed on my DL.
