It Ain't Just Buses and Semis21 Oct 2007 17:38 GMT35
Apparently buses and semis aren't the only vehicles equipped with
cloaking devices. I saw a broken-down Nissan Armada today that also
had one:

An experiment worthy of an Aunt Judy award.21 Oct 2007 14:34 GMT28
Also mentioned in a thread in m.t.r.
Atlanta: college students conduct an experiment with obeying posted 55-
mph speed limit.  The results are insane.

MFFY Hall of Fame21 Oct 2007 13:43 GMT11
I have written previously about the MFFYs who block the driveways at
commuter rail stations. This afternoon I saw a real doozey - quite
possibly the WORST case of MFFY I have ever seen.
The Irvine Amtrak/Metrolink station has two driveways: one for buses
Blind People Protest - Hybrid Cars Are Too Quiet20 Oct 2007 18:34 GMT54
Same problem has always existed, even for sighted people, with goddam
bicyclists. Noisemakers should be on hybrid cars and bikes too.

Lady Parked!20 Oct 2007 14:26 GMT18
Continuing with the theme of stupidity at the train station dropoff,
the other day an Asian woman in an older Lexus pulls up to the Kiss 'n
Ride at the train station, parks next to a white curb, gets out, and
shouts over to the people on the platform "is it OK to park here all
Stupidity20 Oct 2007 05:44 GMT3
First bit of stupidity: Some dude in his (I figure) 40's walking in the
center lane down Roy Rogers Drive/La Paz Drive over the I-15 interchange
in downtown Victorville.
Now, granted, much of the Victor Valley is underinhabited or completely
First Tollways, Now This20 Oct 2007 02:29 GMT14
Next thing you know, cities like Chicago will be selling their public
transit systems to private operators...

sorta OT: gosh darn it I miss PA19 Oct 2007 21:50 GMT4
Spent the weekend up in (very) rural PA for personal reasons...  just
wanted to post and say that I really, really miss living there.  The
area I was in was far more rural than where I grew up.  Well maintained
roads (surprisingly!  PennDOT seems to have stepped up its game in ...
MADD Ignores Illegal Alien Drunk Drivers19 Oct 2007 21:38 GMT3
Looks like the same businesses that bought off Congress on the illegal
alien issue, bought off MADD too.

Today, MADD operates contrary to the good of the American motoring
Definitely a GPSTroll Driving School Graduate19 Oct 2007 14:48 GMT9
Despite GPSTroll's spurious conclusion, it appears that a Trucker -
not a 4-wheeler - caused the big pileup on the 5 in Santa Clarita:

Oh Jesus19 Oct 2007 06:26 GMT9
You gotta love this CalTrans logic: we raised the speed limit on an
INTERSTATE HIGHWAY from a ridiculously low 45 MPH to a still-too-low
55 MPH. We raised the speed limit YEARS ago, but because we have ONE
bad crash we're now going to question our decision.

Here's a Shocker: Many Cops Don't Know the Law!19 Oct 2007 01:11 GMT8
There are several of these intersections around here. Some of them are
posted "right turn permitted without stopping." None have Yield signs.
Lots of people stop needlessly because they, like the DMV examiners
and cops in this story, don't know the law.
A Silly Way To Learn To Drive19 Oct 2007 00:49 GMT4
A woman in England had to take her drivers' test 41 times before she
was awarded a license to drive. It sounds to me like the only time she
got to practice was when she was taking her test. That's one way to
get driving lessons without paying for them. I'd say the examiner got

Note... truck only tunnel. No blaming 4-wheelers here.
