Driving home from work on i-75 yesterday in SE Michigan.  Traffic is
flowing nicely at  70-75 in a 70mph zone (3 lanes wide), except for
one knucklehead that I'm coming up on in the left lane.  He's going
about 55, sometimes getting up to 60.  He had at least 1/2 mile of
Speeding cop, going to a call, right?31 Jan 2008 07:08 GMT1
On Monday, on Woodward Ave in Michigan.  50 mph limit.  You want to go
50 because the lights are timed perfectly for about 7 miles.  I'm in
the 2nd to the left lane (4 lanes wide).  I see a cop in a Dodge
Challenger in a turn around coming to my direction (north).  I see him

Newer cars a lot safer?  Worth the expense?31 Jan 2008 02:02 GMT12
I have a 1991 Honda Civic and it runs well, but I feel like I should
probably buy a newer car with airbags for more safety in a crash.
Another reason I might want to buy another car is that mine is a
compact.  A larger car would probably provide additional protection.

Today's worst traffic situation in California didn't occur in L.A.,
but up in the SF Bay Area, where a woman driving a minivan was cut off

Traffic Gaffe of the Day30 Jan 2008 05:53 GMT15
The traffic reporter and radio station shall remain nameless, but I'm in
San Diego tonight, and a local station reported the following -- remember
that here, "North County" means northern San Diego County --
"Trouble in extreme North County... I-15 northbound at Clinton Keith Road"

Why not have yellow lights with a descending number sequence30 Jan 2008 02:58 GMT58
Replace the solid yellow light in a stoplight with a yellow number that
ticks off the time left before the light turns red. Start off with say 5
