I have lurked here off and on for some time. I find this group to be informative, opinionated and humorous to follow. I live in Indiana. Here the state police along with many local law enforcement branches are allowed to use their police cruisers for personal use while not on

My local Costco (Van Nuys, Los Angeles County) gas station has the cheapest gas around ($4.519 for regular unleaded) and almost always has lines. The Costco station is designed so that all traffic enters from the street and heads east, away from the street.

I need to drive from Turlock, CA (Stockton area) to National City, CA (San Diego area). GPS wants to route me down route 5, which looks reasonable. But this appears to pass right through the heart of downtown LA, which also seems like a really BAD IDEA.
