Leaving 35 zone and starting up Buck Canyon into the 55 zone. 2 lanes up, 1 down. Light traffic. Ahead I see a car change to left lane for no apparent reason. Round curve and see an 8x16" concrete block square in the middle of right lane. I signal and move to left lane.

Breaking News on KTLA: apparently some geezer had a seizure while driving and crashed into a bunch of cars. Some pedestrians were also injured, including at least one elementary school child who had to be completely immobilized while they wheeled her away.
