Ford Explorer 2002 paint cracking.31 Dec 2003 22:47 GMT8
I have a black 2002 Eddie Bauer Explorer that has cracking paint on
both the hood and roof.  The cracks look like spider webs or small
veins.  Has everyone else experienced this with the new model
Explorer?  It appears that Ford has yet to solve their paint problem.
93 xlt stalls31 Dec 2003 18:46 GMT2
My 93 XLT starts to shake and then stalls when I apply the brake.  It does
not do this all of the time.  I might go for days and it runs fine.  Then
one day, I go to apply the brake, the engine starts to run very rough and
eventually it dies.  I have just replaced the pcv valve, the ...
1996 4X4: Removing the Front Hub Assembly31 Dec 2003 11:17 GMT4
I have a bad left front hub assembly which I need to replace.  My first
attempt at removing the hub assembly was not successful because I couldn't
remove it from the steering knuckle.  Evidently rust can make it difficult
to separate the assembly from the knuckle.  I did use plenty ...
Rear Wiper Fluid Fill Up  on '03 Explorer/Mountaineer?31 Dec 2003 04:19 GMT1
On my '03, do I need to add rear wiper fluid separately, in the back, like
the 1991-2001 Explorers? Or does the rear wiper get fluid from the front? I
am looking where to top off the fluids and can't find a place in the rear
like my older Explorers.

2002-4 Hands-Free Cell Phone and/or XM Install?29 Dec 2003 21:50 GMT13
I'd like to hear from others who have installed a hands-free cell phone
and/or XM Satellite Radio system into their 2002-04 Ford Explorers or
Mercury Mountaineers. Personal experience, opinions or directions to
websites and forums (especially with photos and detailed comments) is ...

Hello. Can anyone tell me the type of glue used to hold the glass in
place in a power window setup?
The drivers-side window on my Expedition fell out of both the metal
brackets used to raise and lower the window AND the track the Window
New heater valve still leaking28 Dec 2003 01:18 GMT1
I discovered a leak in the heater valve in my 1995 Explorer during a
radiator flush.  It was leaking from the lever that operates the
heater valve.  I replaced it with a new valve from NAPA.  The new one
leaks worse than the original one.  Is this just a bad valve or is
Mid 90's, what to look for?27 Dec 2003 14:42 GMT1
As someone who is doing some shopping for an early-mid 90's Explorer, I
was wondering if there are any common problems that people in this group
can suggest looking for?  Most vehicles that I'm seeing have about
150,000km on them (~100,000 miles), and are automatics.  (I'm ...

Will be replacing front brakes on my 2002 EB this weekend. First time they
have been touched,(only 37,000 miles).Any known surprises on this, or is it
pretty straight forward? My plan is to replace pads & rotors. Any comments
appreciated.
Cell phone mute connections24 Dec 2003 20:47 GMT1
I am planning on installing a hands free kit into my 2004 XLT
Explorer. The Explorer has the factory installed cd/cassette unit
which has the mute feature. I am trying to find the correct wire/pin
to connect the handsfree mute wire to on the radio. The hands free
can you get rear air AND a sunroof in a 02+ Explorer ?24 Dec 2003 18:44 GMT1
Been looking around, and everything I find has one OR the other..   Are the
two mutually exclusive ?
I got to thinking that maybe since the rear air is in the roof rather than
the console as in previous years, that maybe they are running refrigerant
DRL module location24 Dec 2003 16:00 GMT1
Hi Guys;
Would anyone know where is DRL located on '96 EB Xplorer? I had to pull
out the fuse as headlights would intermittently flash with key removed,
sometimes staying on (got stranded once with empty battery).
'91 EB, 4x4, automatic ----  Air Hammer noise???24 Dec 2003 14:47 GMT1
When I'm cruising at 45 mph or above, and begin to lightly and slowly
accelerate, my old '91 with 200,000 miles, begins making a noise I can best
describe as sounding (and feeling) like someone is working on the under
carriage with an air hammer.
