anybody have this happen to them?  I have a 98 explorer and the plastic
cracked in the middle of the armrest and therefore does not hold anymore
weight.  The design is horrible.  Am I left with replacing the whole part?

I am from Germany and own a Explorer 94 with 4.0L engine (160 hp) an
110000 miles.
In the last time the check-enige light turn on after 100 to 115 (160
to 180 km) miles on the autobahn. I "normal" speed is 90 to 95 mph

I have a 97 Ford Explorer w/a 5.0 V8, 2WD, automatic.
My question is this, is it possible to have a 98 engine in this vehicle, possibly because it was produced later in the year?
I know the engine is original in the vehicle, I have heard it could be a 98 though. Whether it is or ...

I followed the directions in the manual and got fresh batteries and even tried
it with batteries from the remote that works.  I still cnat get the new one to
work, any ideas.

The latch handle pulled back & the steel cable came back but the hood
latch did not release  The cable stayed back. I've tried WD40 into the
latch. I can't get a tool to the latch. It looks like maybe the grill
needs to come off to get access but I'm not sure it can be removed
