97 explorer ohc V6, 130k miles.
I am getting a tapping noise coming from the engine, it's frequency
increases with engine rpm. It goes away after a few miles of driving(sounds
like it's getting oil). Sometimes, it doesn't do it at all.

I have replaced the coil, wires, distributer cap and rotor, and the
spark plugs. Removed varible venturi carb and put on a older 2 barrel

On these  99 Ford Explorer's XLT, do the  front brake Rotors just slide off
the hub, or are they the type that I need to disassamble the front hubs to
replace/machine?

Can anyone suggest a good replacement radio for my 2001 explorer with read
seat controls, the display in mine had died and ford wants $200.00 to fix
it. Or, does anyone know where I can get it fixed on on the net?

I have a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport with an automatic transmission and
only 82,000 miles.  Recently the car has been slipping between second
and third.  Eventually the O/D light will come on and the car will go

I have a problem in the front end of my 97 XLT SOHC that only shows up when
the outdoor temp drops to near or below freezing.
There's a clunking noise when going over bumps or rocking the steering wheel

went in don-olson the care repair place and tire distributer and asked

Has anyone changed the transfer case fluid in a '96 XLT?
Do the tranny and transfer case share the same supply of fluid?
If not, does the transfer case take the same transmission fluid or is it
some special grade?
