Disc Brake Pads for 94 Explorer13 Apr 2004 02:19 GMT2
My 94 Explorer is due for new front disc brake pads.  I've been using
the Ford pads and they have worked ok for me.  I was wondering what
others are using in their 94s, in case there's something better
than the Ford pads out there (I'm sure there is).

Does anyone know where I can buy two Tag Light Assemblys for an old '91 EB ?
The little plastic retaining clips on my assemblies are broken off and they

O2 Sensors11 Apr 2004 16:29 GMT8
I have a check engine light that keeps coming on/off. The code was checked
as a "lazy" O2 sensor. Should I have it replaced, or not? Also how much

years ago, and you guys were right on he money with that fix ...
97 mileage question11 Apr 2004 06:02 GMT1
I have a 97 EB 6 with about 75,000 miles.  The truck is in excellent
condition with all required maintenance completed.  The mileage in the city
has slipped to about 15.5 mpg driving with a very light touch.  Is it
possible to have bad oxygen sensors even if the check-engine light ...

I have a 2002 EB 4 wheel drive and I live in the western NC mtn's. I have
Michelin tires. The door label says the tire pressure should be 30 front, 35

curves on mountain roads....Thanks
5.0 V8 Camshaft Synchronizer09 Apr 2004 04:42 GMT7
I spent a couple of hours replacing the camshaft synchronizer on my
'96 V8 Explorer with over 107K miles.
A few days ago a squeaking, chirping noise was coming from the engine,
at first I thought it was the serpentine belt, or a idler pulley,
255/70/16 AT tires for 2001 Explorer Sport????09 Apr 2004 03:13 GMT4
The original Goodyear RT/S are junk when it comes to wet traction and
ride. Being that this is the 2Dr Ex Sport, the truck rides VERY firm.
I'm looking at changing  the ride characteristics to something a
little softer and maybe even gaining better control. Tires & Shocks
Do I Have A Transmission Cooler08 Apr 2004 01:52 GMT1
I've got a 97 Mountaineer V8 AWD.  I need to know if it has a
transmission cooler, I am going to tow a medium sized pop-up camper.
I am not sure if my vehicle has a tow package.  How can I tell?  Does
Ford mark the vehicle in some way?  What does a transmission cooler
How Can I Tell If I Have a TOW PACKAGE?08 Apr 2004 01:50 GMT1
I have a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer AWD V8.  GREAT truck, bought it

label somewhere on the truck?
I'll be towing a 3000 lb tent trailer and need to know if I have a

I have a 1999 Explorer SOHC sport and when I start it in the cold weather,
it sounds like I just changed by oil and there was none there for a
second. I took it to the dealer and they said it was due to the timing

'91, 6-cyl, manual-shift Explorer.
I just had an all-new clutch installed.  Immediately, it began leaking oil.
When the truck is up on the rack, you can see oil leaking from the seam
where two large metal sections come together.  Before the clutch repair, the

I have to change my idler pulley and serpentine belt on my Explorer. It
looks pretty straightforward, but there is usually something that comes up
on any of these repairs. Are there any surprises or tricks involved with
replacing this pulley? TIA
