pushed in and pulled out they have some free play and make a clunk.  I
couldn't find much about  this in past postings, so I was ...

Reconditioning wheels23 May 2004 11:08 GMT7
The aluminum wheels on my 92 XLT (69,000 miles) are getting a bit funky. The
clear coat is coming off in some places due to age and mishandling by tire
mounters. Some scraps and chips. Can these be redone? Anyone try this either
personally or through a shop? Is it hard to do or, if ...

My kid dropped a coin behind the door covering the passenger side airbag,
and it's rattling around and driving me crazy.  Is it safe to open this
cover?  If so, any special precautions to take?  Can it be closed again or
is it a replacement item?  Damn kids!

97 Explorer Timing Chain Life?22 May 2004 19:30 GMT2
I have a 97 Explorer with the conventional V6 not the SOHC.  What is the
expected timing chain life?  I have 190,000 miles on it and everything is
original except the sparkplugs, hoses, and serpentine belt.

I have a 2003 explorer, and the seats moves when I stop. Very annoying, Ford
say they can't fix it. Is there a fix out there?
Explorer vs Jeep Cherokee22 May 2004 06:31 GMT4
It's getting to be time for a new (used) car.  I currently own a '91
Explorer EB 4x4, which I bought nearly 4 years ago.  I've had a few
maintanence issues, but I expect that with over 200,000 miles.
I also like the Jeep Cherokee a friend owns, so I'm looking at both SUVs as

mpg.  I'll be driving about 2,400 miles on vacation this summer, mostly
highway, and need to do everything possible to get the best ...
