| Cheaper Herculiner substitute?? | 25 Jun 2004 17:46 GMT | 3 |
I have an '82 F-100 longbed, and wondering if I can just scrub the bed down with some 3M sanding pads, primer, and then roll some paint and then a polyester coating on top of everything. It has a medium amount of rust, but nothing that goes all the way through (glad I live in GA

| SUV Rollover Information | 24 Jun 2004 16:49 GMT | 5 |
Interesting article - says that 95% of rollovers occur when the vehicle is "tripped" by hitting curb, ditch, etc. and only 5% are caused by driver turning wheel too sharply. http://money.cnn.com/2004/06/14/pf/autos/rollover_ratings/index.htm

My 2003 XLT ( v6, 4X4 ) just had its 15000 mile service at Ford ( free service for 25,000 miles). I was told that the front brake pads probably would need replacement when I brought it in for the 20K service. I have several questions.

Having the rear end replaced again. Not sure what the final part tally will be but do know at least a ring and pinion is going in. Do you need to breakin new gears. I only remember when I did gear swaps on Mustangs years ago, I had to go through some cycle of driving and cool ...

Had to have IAC valve replaced because my sport died at idle 71,000 miles. Valve was $69 and they charged me 1.5 hours labor? I think I paid for the tech's lunch. Then they wanted another $100 to clean out the carbon deposits. Where do

| Happy Birthday R.A.M.F.E | 22 Jun 2004 06:32 GMT | 6 |
Seems it was about 12 years ago this month that a group of listserver stragglers founded this newsgroup. I'll speculate that more than twenty-seven Explorer owners have visited the group since then, for support, advice, sharing misery and joy regarding their cars.

| 2003 Mountaineer Rear End Whine | 21 Jun 2004 14:17 GMT | 19 |
I've got the dreaded rear-end whine like numerous other postings here. Starts around 55MPH, goes away as you let the foot off the accelerator. I can hear it over my radio, and it's so loud my 4 year old boy can identify the sound as we are driving on the freeway.
