The lights are dark until I turn the headlight switch all the way to the
point where the overhead and map lights come on... then the panel lights up.
Is there a separate fuse for the dimmed panel lights I do not know about? Do
I need a new headlight switch?  Thanks.

When on Ac the air begins coming out kool at first then
turns hot.  However, if I put it in Maximum Ac it works
continuously but then gets extremely cold which is normal
on max.

I have a 97 explorer with a 302 and my heater controls always blow heat,
unless I turn on max a/c. I've been scratching my head trying to fix
this problem. I tried replacing the control panael in the vehicle, but
that didn't work. Does anybody have any ideas as to what this ...

I've got a chirp/squeal in the engine that's been driving me nuts since I
had 25,000 on my 2002 Explorer.  I've had it to the dealership 7 times over
20 months and its back!  Usually in the morning and it goes away.
Eventually it gets worse and worse and more reproducable.

I can't get my Sport out form 4WD low even though the switch is set to 2 WD.
The light on the dash board says 4 WD low and it's riding as 4 WD low.
When I try to switch to 4 WD high no luck.
When I try to switch to 2 WD no luck.

I have a 1993 Explore and none of the gauges seem to work except for the
speedometer. I have checked all the fuses and they seem to be ok. I even
bought a new contol center cluster. Any ideas am I missing somthing?

The Goodrich tires that came with my '03 Mountaineer will be gone soon as
the vehicle approaches 30,000 miles. That's not bad here in the up and down,
stop and go hills of Pittsburgh, but not great either.
I am curious about the Michelin model tires. Seems to me that there are

wonder, what steps to I take? Do I have to remove the fan in order to
get the plastic cowl off the radiator? What about the cooling lines
for the auto transmission, air conditioning, and maybe power steering,

I had my 99 XLT with only 30,000 miles inspected at a garage. The mechanic said
my belt had some cracks and needed to be replaced soon. So I picked one up at
the dealer and put it in. The old one did have some cracks on the ribs of the
belt.
