Gas mileage for 94 EXP 4.0L15 Jun 2004 18:23 GMT9
What is the normal gas mileage for a 1994 EXP 4.0L? What trick do you have
to get a better fuel/mileage? I'm about 15 MPG for my daily use and around
19 MPG on highway or long trip. What do you think?
Thanks a bunch
'97 Explorer Rattle in Front Driver's Side Wheel15 Jun 2004 17:24 GMT7
I have a '97 Explorer that has a rattle or knock that I can feel and hear
coming from somewhere between the left front wheel and the steering wheel.
It is the worst when going under speeds of 10 mph, and if I'm driving
over 30 or 40 mph it won't happen.  It is like something is ...
Loss of transmission fluid15 Jun 2004 00:24 GMT3
Me EB 1994, 165k miles spewed all of the transmission fluid onto Home Depot
Car Park Saturday.
Apparently from the engine gearbox mating point.
She is sitting in my drive way awaiting transport to my local mechanic.
Ford loses Explorer lawsuit14 Jun 2004 21:42 GMT12
Ford just lost a lawsuit on Explorers...Damages were set at 369 million.  I
wonder if they regret not listening to the Engineers when they had the
chance.  Anyone else think that if this award survives appeal, the lawsuits
will multiply 10 fold?  If nothing else, the value of a ...
'94 Explorer Intermittent Starting/Running Problem14 Jun 2004 16:34 GMT3
Hello all!  I had a problem with my '94 Explorer XLT 4x4.  It just wouldn't
start.  We drove to the mall, no problem.  Got in to leave, it would turn
over, but it was barely running.  More like dieseling.  Pressing the gas
didn't make any change.  RPM didn't increase.  Shut it off, ...
Blower motor problems14 Jun 2004 12:51 GMT5
I am having problems with my blower motor stopping. Sometimes it will not
run at all. I have been able to get it running by jiggling the relay under
the hood. The relay checks out. My other explorer has the same problem. Both
or 1993 XLT's.
Replacement Emblem for XLT?14 Jun 2004 04:12 GMT2
Anyone know where to get a new emblem to replace my XLT emblem on the back?
I would like it to say "Explorer POS" instead of "Explorer XLT."
The closest thing I've found so far is a decal of a guy peeing on a Ford
emblem.
4X4lights\Speedometer troubles - Jim Warman13 Jun 2004 19:27 GMT4
Jim,
I don't know what the "credit card scam" was for your post from back
in 2002 - but you indicated that you had a good answer for the
problem. I am having the same problem (1995 EB 4X4), with the 4WD
triton 4.6 litre install13 Jun 2004 19:00 GMT1
Question:
Can a 4.0 litre SOHC engine in a 2 wheel drive 1999 Ford Explorer XLT with
trailer tow package (3.73 rearend)
be replaced with a 4.6 litre SOHC engine?
coolant temperature high and transmission jerky12 Jun 2004 19:33 GMT1
Yesterday,  my 2000 Explorer XLT started to blink "Check Gage" warning
light. After checking all gauges,  I found out the engine coolant
temperature gauge is in the warning range. In addition, when the
transmission (automatic) shifts, there is a jerk or bounce. I checked the
'Smoke' from vents12 Jun 2004 16:50 GMT13
91 XLT - Wife and daughter report 'smoke' coming from the air vents into the
cabin. A white smoke (vs black). No odor...
Google search reveals either heater core or debris in the blower area. Since
the smoke is odorless, I'm inclined to think heater core. Coolant level is
95 Ex accelerator bracket rivets failure12 Jun 2004 02:20 GMT1
I have a 95 Explorer with about 90,000 easy miles on it.  Today all three
rivets that hold the accelerator pedal mounting bracket to the firewall gave
way.  The rivets all pulled through the firewall, leaving three fairly clean
holes.  The fix is pretty easy, just drill out the ...
Bird under the hood11 Jun 2004 23:28 GMT5
My wife's 2001 Sport Trac with 16000 miles has started chirping at the
accessory belt area. I'm relatively certain it's either the idler pully or
the tensioner pulley. Being mostly deaf in one ear, it's difficult to tell
where the noise is coming from. Is one more likely than the ...
radio stops working when in gear11 Jun 2004 20:18 GMT1
My -98 Explorer all wheel drive Limited has the am/fm/cassette/cd/6 disc
changer. Everything works WHEN THE GEARSHIFT LEVER IS IN PARK OR NEUTRAL. Put
it in reverse or any of the drive gears & the the sound goes away. The radio
stays on & the c-d's keep playing, but the sound is ...
Suspect battery problem11 Jun 2004 17:21 GMT2
Yesterday on the way home from work, I realized that I'd left the lift
gate partially open after removing something in the morning.  I pulled
over, closed it properly, and went on my way.
Once I was most of the way home, I happened to notice the battery
