How to tell if a 2000 XLT is a Limited Edition22 Jul 2004 14:46 GMT5
I bought a used 2000 XLT last August and I am getting ready to sell it
privately.  When I bought it at the dealership last year the salesman
told me that it was a Limited Edition Explorer.  He told me that I
could tell by looking at the decal on the rear quarter panel.  Is this
99 XLT ABS light on, anything I can check?22 Jul 2004 08:58 GMT1
Subject line pretty much says it all. The light came on while driving
down the freeway. Brakes work fine other than ABS which I haven't
tested. Any suggestions as to how to diagnose the problem? Thanks.
XLT CD player says slots full, but they aren't!22 Jul 2004 06:17 GMT1
I have read a number of posts about problems with the OEM stereos in
Explorers, but I haven't seen this one yet.
A friend of mine has an '01 F250 that he bought a new aftermarket stereo
for. He gave me the OEM 6 CD in-dash stereo he took out. I used it to
AC Fan malfunctioning22 Jul 2004 05:58 GMT1
I have a 96 Ford Explorer XL with regular climate control functions.
A few days ago the air stopped blowing in speeds 1, 2 and 3, and only
the 4th high function is blowing air, no matter where I choose the air
to blow from, A/C is working fine.
Looking for Victims of 1SourceAutoWarranty.com22 Jul 2004 05:54 GMT1
Anyone have a bad experience with 1SourceAutoWarranty.com Car Extended

car to the dealer and 1Source refused to pay what the dealer was asking for
the price for the starter and labor so I had to pay the ...
Plug Wire question22 Jul 2004 05:01 GMT2
My future brother in law has a 2000 5.0 V8 Explorer.  It had been running
rough and had a check engine light on.   I changed out the plugs, but did
not do the wires on the advice of the man at Napa.  It still was running
rough, but better than before.  My fiancee's father took it to ...
A/C blowing hot - '92 EB22 Jul 2004 04:35 GMT13
Hey, Jim ( or anyone with a good answer ),
My A/C is blowing hot. It blew a compressor, that has since been
replaced. The unit has been evac'd and had 2.5 pounds of  R134A put in the
system. Why is it still blowing hot? Do I need to be looking at the
94 xlt stuck turn signal21 Jul 2004 21:31 GMT1
on my 94 xlt, the turn signal seems to be getting stuck on (ie. not

signal right) it blinks, but flipping it down keeps the left turn signal
lit up.  it still flips itself back to the center position after i make
Tire pressure monitoring system21 Jul 2004 15:31 GMT10
In reading through my manual (yea, some people do that), I was intrigued by
the TPMS.  It says it uses RF to transmit from a module attached to the inside
of the rim to a receiver in the car.  They explain how to properly replace
tires so you don't damage this module, etc.

97 SOHC serp belt problems20 Jul 2004 04:40 GMT6
I changed the belt a few weeks back, now it's started squealing just as I
start the engine but then it stops.  I removed it and degreased the pulleys,
but that didn't help much.   Funny, it never ever made a sound with the old
belt.  It is a Ford belt, not aftermarket.
Car randomly stalling (dropping below idle). Troubleshooting tips appreciated.20 Jul 2004 02:11 GMT3
Something odd happened to me today and I'm wondering if anyone has any
comments on this new problem I noticed today (of course at the most
inoportune time):
I went to start up my car this morning and it started fine.  Lately

I've been changing my oil myself for about the last three oil changes

I was told today by an auto parts store that Ford requires
